Wow, very gripping and sad. There are only 3 episodes planned but anyone who has watched the first two must agree there is extra mileage in this so maybe they'll do some more Episode 2 last night looked at the battle of the Somme which cost the lives of 310,000 men and a battle that lasted for 5 months! Also did you know that 306 British and Commonwealth soldiers were killed by firing squad for cowardliness. Unbelievable stuff Anyway, for RHC (and anyone who hasnt watched it) you can watch the episodes here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p022twsy/episodes/player. Do so this weekend Also check this out http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/1kWsQcfTPFjfz9sdxfTGFhC/our-world-war-interactive-episode Brilliant how they've done that ^ Other things here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p022twsy, director interview, making of, radio 4 drama called Home Front We moan about crap all the time dont we but this stuff really hits home with me. I find both World Wars fascinating. I think its the scale of it and what people had to go through, mind blowing for me really Mods I know we have been on about this in the Film thread but not everyone goes on there so just leave this to sink please
Just had a quick look on youtube but cant see it on there Do you have other sites you might be able to watch stuff on?
Not that I know of. I could try to do some of that rerouting stuff or use a host server (I'm not very up on IT, but I think you know what I mean), but tbh it's never really seemed worth it.
If you've a tablet there is an app that makes all that easy to do...one flick and it just switches you to the country you need. I will PM you it and you can see if it works.
Edit: meant to say you may need to change your tablets clock to the time of area you're pretending to be but the rest is really straight forward.
I've enjoyed* the first two episodes. The way its been done as been very good and they have got some important aspects over too. The bit that disappoints me is their lack of ambition when it comes to the series. It could have been a lot more than three, they could have easily got twenty episodes from this but obviously would have taken a lot more effort, money and actors too. Can't see too much room for maneuverability now though since they jumped from August 1914 in the first episode to September 1916 last night. I'm guessing next weeks will be something from the end of the war. * Not sure enjoyed is the right word but not sure what other word to use here
Yeah ive thought that when typing brilliant, enjoyed etc They could still do more episodes but following a set of characters where as these are different ones each show. They could def do something similar to Band of Brothers here Have you had a go of that interactive thing?
