Just 4% of key backroom jobs in football given to ethnic minority coaches, PFA findings reveal There are just two minority ethnic managers in professional English football http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...rity-coaches-pfa-findings-reveal-9833852.html
I'm sick of hearing about this. What hardly ever gets reported is that there are only 9 black coaches who've got the UEFA pro licence. This Rooney rule they keep going on about is bullshit. If this really was a problem, and clubs really were hiring managers on the basis of skin colour, then forcing them to interview one ethnic minority candidate isn't the answer, it's pure tokenism. But it's not really a problem is it. The examples cited by kick it out, such as the former Chelsea youth coach who now can't get a manager's job, prove nothing at all. It's hard to get into management unless you were a good player, regardless of skin colour.
If you're good enough, you'll make it, I don't believe any club owner gives a **** about a players skin colour, he only cares about his ability to do the job.
Paul Ince - messed up most clubs hes been at - Hughton messed up Norwich - Powell messed up Charlton, doing ok at Huddersfield and Curle not doing very well at Carlisle - can someone please give me an example of a black manager who has been discriminated against
You all know what I'm gonna say... what about women? Never mind ethnic minorities. We are 50% of the population. How can wonen get involved and get jobs when its such a great big boys club?
Although not in football Hull led the way back in the fifties when a certain individual became the first Black British professional coach in any sport.
Your problem with that argument is, if it's followed through it will lead to less opportunities for women, as men would have to be eligible for what are now ladies only sides.
But they make up 100% of the WI. I didnt notice any blokes in the ladies tennis either. So what? If they're good enough, they'll get jobs.
I hate things like this how is it fair that they HAVE to interview a black person. It's like all these equal opportunity forms when applying for jobs, if I tick white british and the company in question doesn't employ someone who is African do they have more chance of the job? The best person for the job is the best person for the job. The only problem is if it is solely their race/religion etc that is preventing them getting the job, they are creating a problem which doesn't exist (at least in football).
Gah stupid phone. I meant shouldn't you be busy being offended on behalf of someone else? No need to be offended by me. The main offensive poster on here is you. But you know that, and I bet you have a little smirk to yourself each time you post a thread or picture.
