    'a sword made of hash' actually conjures the following thought of a real-one;

    It would start of like the mighty broadsword in Highlander or that thing Aragorn waves around in Return of The King. Then it would resemble the Hittori Hanzo in Kill Bill. At the middle of its life, it would draw comparisons with Crocodile Dundee's knife. Over time, as it diminishes through 'use', it would more closely resemble a fencing sword. The latter stages would see it become dagger-esque in appearance.
