Leeds, as they're the only team that are likely to compete with us ie we're both in a different class to Sheff Utd, Wednesday, Scunthorpe, Barnsley, Donny.
For me personally it's fuelled by the wummage we get from Leeds fans on here, who firmly believe they're big enough to be back in the Champions League in the next two or three years.
Although I'm sure (or at least, I hope) it's a small minority.
Biggest rivalry in the Premier League, strangely, was Arsenal. (although obviously not competing for league positions)
The french ****ers.

Another TWS exercise in attention seeking.
The dislike some have of TWS is not much to do with the Club or the place, it's more some of the local numpties that latched on to them.
Our rivals are whoever is challenging for the position we're after.

Nonsense, it has one main purpose. When the question's asked without the prescriptive list TWS hardly get a mention.
I thought that, but when it comes to the end of the season, a lot of us end up saying 'I'd like to see Scunny stay up' whereas if Leeds were in that position, it'd be 'Leeds scum, I hope they go all the way down to the BSPL'
Fine then, if you're going to be arsey about the term 'rivalry', then 'derby/grudge match'.
As it is, Leeds have already received over 70% of the votes, so I hardly think it's an attention seeking exercise from me. Any other suggestions of rivals you have, I am happy to edit in. I have seen Donny and Barnsley mentioned on here, for instance.
Leeds, but only because of all the clowns I was at school with in the 70's.
That said, our games against Leeds are usually rubbish, traditionally we've had far better games against the Sheffield clubs.
When I first started going to City, our main rivalries were Grimsby, Lincoln and York, but that seems a hell of a long time ago now.

I'm not getting arsey, I'm just expressing my opinion. Rivalry is a very different thing to dislike. You seem to be mixing them up.
Rivalry has more than one definition. Dislike's too broad a term - for instance many football fans objectively hate Barcelona and Real Madrid, but that's not what I'm getting at here.
Yes, in my sense of the word. Obviously we've not been division rivals since '04 and competitive rivals since '02.
You don't compete with them for league position, trophies, fans, history, geography etc etc.
Which shows how senseless your version is. It looks more like you mean envy.
You go to Old Trafford and ask their fans what they think of Leeds.
You go to Elland Road and ask the Leeds fans what they think of Man U.
Mutual dislike = rivalry. We have been historical competitors in the 70s and in the 90s. Geography? You heard of the Wars of the Roses? Red vs White - Lancashite vs Yorkshire.
Technically Loiner the wars of the roses wasn't Yorshire v Lancashire. It was the house of York (headed by a southener) v House of Lancaster (headed by a Taff). The North was a hot bed of support for the Lancastrians and the south for the House of York, as Richard III was the king and his main power base was in London.
More to the point, sorry for boring everyone about history, but it has nothing to do with football and it's a fabricated reason for your "rivalry".

You could perhaps google the war of the roses to find out why that's not strictly accurate.

AS I said, you're not competing with Man U on any level, so you may not like them, but that's not rivals as such is it? The Man U fans I know are less interested in TWS than we are. Go figure.
