We can sort out competition rules fairly soon but I'm keen to find out what competitions will be most popular.

Meanwhile. for the coming Derby/Oaks meeting what would you think of a competition like this:

    Epsom Derby and Oaks Competition

There are 5 races from Epsom on BBC 2 on Friday and also on Saturday

For each of the televised races pick 2 (named) horses. Your selections will score points as follows:

Selection 1. If it wins: 30 points plus odds to 1
If it comes second 20 points
If it comes third 10 points

Selection 2. If it wins: 15 points plus odds to 1
If it comes second 10 points
If it comes third 5 points

In addition, one of your first selections each day will be your nap. Your score for that selection will be doubled if it wins.

In addition, for the Derby and Oaks your scores will be doubled.

    There will be a JOKER

If you nap the winner of the Derby or Oaks you will be doubling your already doubled score but if your nap does not win you forfeit all points for that selection.

It's your competition so I'll go with whatever you want. Just add comments below.

We will need to decide by this time tomorrow so that whatever is decided can be posted in good time for all.

If you prefer something simpler instead of or as well as the other option we could have an ATR type where we take all the televised races at Epsom and choose how to spend our £100 each day.
