i hope so, i think all this "we have pulled out" is bull, i think were just doing our transfers on the quite not to increase attension form other clubs. and dont forget we have 7.5m cash unlike many other clubs. i really hope we get him.

If you google the title and click through it should show up (unless they've blocked that method now).

NEWCASTLE plan to land Paris St Germain hitman Mevlut Erdinc for about £7.5million.

Ambitious Toon boss Alan Pardew still wants to add another striker before the season kicks off next month.

They have already nabbed West Ham hot-shot Demba Ba for nothing and the No.9 shirt is still up for grabs.

Pards has been impressed by Turkish forward Erdinc, who hit 28 goals in his last two seasons in French football.

Newcastle have already crossed the Channel three times this summer to sign Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux and Mehdi Abeid.

And they hope to make Erdinc the fourth, with PSG prepared to let the 24-year-old go following their own signing of one-time Toon target Kevin Gameiro.

Newcastle winger Hatem Ben Arfa, 24, has got the green light from doctors to hit pre-season training at full pelt after recovering from a broken leg.

I'd be satisfied with one more quality striker, Best/Ameobi/Lovenkrands are good enough back up strikers and we might even play two strikers all the time so Ba/new striker could be left on the bench for some matches

If we keep Best i'll be happy with just one more striker, especially as I get the feeling we will often be playing 4-5-1 or 4-3-3.

  13. Best and Lover are a good pair of strikers. Lover works well with a good partner, and unfortunately he got stuck with that pile of **** Shola who's **** against any time outside the top 6 except from the mackems.

Have to disagree there tash. Lover is definately ****.
Best isn't a good striker or prospect. Everyone thought he was ****e before his hat-trick against west ham.
    Imo
BA , new striker , Shola as back-up (I know he rubbish too but he's best of a bad bunch).

Yes everyone THOUGHT BEST was **** BEFORE the hat-trick, then he started poping in the goals & his performances improved. <ok>

Definitely keep Best over Lover/Shola ANYDAY.

I'd guess we'll have this for next season (assuming we get Erding and not anyone else):
    Ba
    Erding
    Best
    Loverman
    Shola

Thats if we do get rid of Ranger as well

Reports were saying Best is going to be sold as well. Think we might bring in someone else, but if not 4 strikers will be sufficient for the system we'll be playing (most likely one up top)

I think if we sign another striker the likes of ameobi and best will only be needed if both strikers get injured only if we play 4-5-1

  20. We've put a price tag on Best, this doesn't mean he's necessarily up for sale, it just means if someone wants to buy him that they'll have to fork out 4 million quid.

Joey Barton has been given a price tag, but it doesn't matter because Barton wants to stay and the club can't force him to leave.
