Sorry for not being here to argue it.
The stats don't lie though, minute for minute he was the best last season. And if arsenal can get someone like benzema to partner him, anything is possibly. I'm sure arshavin can play behind van persie, which is where he SHOULD play, instead of on the wing because arsenal have too many wingers (gervinho, oxo, miyachi, Walcott, nasri if he somehow stays)


The problem at arsenal is not just the defence, it is this: RVP is the only top class forward that arsenal have. Chelsea and city have loads, for example.
Chelsea: Torres drogba Anelka, maybe lukaku and sturridge, kalou
City: dzeko, balotelli, aguero, tevez if he stays, plus the backups like Santa Cruz.
And when van persie gets injured, arsenal can fall back on the amazing Bendtner and chamakh.


The only reason i am not putting him up there because he just scored against the small teams at home. He got nearly 50% of his goals in a few games. Fergie never even played the guy for the important games. Van Persie broke the goals record for away games last season.
