Lads it's the 26th of January ... Energies are at a natural yearly low for western folk plus we are QPR fans what a bloody combo I wondered the other day that all that would be required in the UK to piss people off more than killing the innocent would be to blow up half a dozen bridges around the M25 without any lost of life. The impact would cripple the city totally and stop people moving and working. The big question is why hasn't this been done or thought of? You have to wonder exactly who is behind the word terror
this thread gets more enjoyable the longer it lasts now that cadburys have changed the recipe for crème eggs I think you can only get them downstairs bit warm for chocolate though
My mummy warned me not to eat chocolate that might have come from 'downstairs', Kiwi, particularly if it was still warm.
What strikes me more is that I can walk into a PL football ground with a bag for a game that's being broadcast on live TV around the world and most of the time I don't get searched. If you wanted to make a point and attack Westerners and their culture to affect morale then what better way than to hit them at the heart of their national sport at a time that would be broadcast live around the world? (Weirdly I had this conversation with someone on a train a good few years ago now, and 18 months later the exact situation I'd described was the plot of a BBC produced film) More in the nature of terrorism though, other than dropping atom bombs on Japan has there been a single occassion in the history of human conflict where attacking civilian targets has had the desired effect of weakening morale or putting pressure on the government to give up or give in rather than making people more determined to defeat the attackers? Why hasn't a single terrorist group yet had leaders that think that a better way to do things might be to blow up something none of us like and would improve society from both points of view, like politicians, or bankers, or the Jeremy Kyle studio, you know, things we wouldn't miss.
Well I always get searched, every single time, Ricardo..and with a bit of luck I can push past the female security guard that looks like me with a bomber jacket and moustache....and get searched by the hunky ex paratrooper guy. Sole purpose of going to the match in my opinion.
Obviously you can say what you want, when you want but that's way off topic.... (I'll get my hat and scarf too...)
You're right. If I carry on with confectionary-related humour, sooner or later there'll be a Bounty on my head.
My point is that the way terror is served into our minds needs continuous question imo I guarantee you that if real inconvienence was served to the UK public by a attack on transport links then religion beliefs and ideals would fly out the window People from other cultures and worlds don't get outraged that their waitrose groceries won't get delivered ... They live without such luxuries and still retain the right skill sets to survive ... Hence my attacks on exactly what UK culture has become we buy in most things for our people because their lives involve fighting for money just to pay for the roof over their heads We are left therefore with just words and opinions what use are they when actions are required? A nation of clever thinking sheep imo ruled by fear who really are no longer that clever . God or religion call it spirit whatever is inside each one of us ... I say connect
Not very terrifying, blowing up a bridge though. Our current crop of terrorists don't want to inconvenience us. They want to terrorise us. Like by trying to chop someone's head off in the street. If they wanted to bring us to the negotiating table attacking infrastructure might make sense. But they aren't interested in that, they want to demoralise and destroy us. Thankfully there aren't really that many of them and it won't work.
