There's been increasing rumours that Bruma is to sign for us. So confident are the hacks that it has been suggested that it's as good as done. So today's interview with the lad's agent (with quotes) saying that Leicester and Southampton are interested but we're not, shows that it's all guess work at best and fantasy and lies at worse.
We have to sign one pointless winger every season. They sacrifice a year of their career to the football gods, so that we can continue to do well. Sorry, Bruma.
I've been saying for ages that Bruma is paper talk for the simple reason he ticks precisely none of the boxes of what Poch wants from his players * Attitude: abysmal, as he flounced out of Sporting to sign for Galatasaray - now he's trying to flounce out of Galatasaray * Teamwork: non-existent, as with the ball he turns into Adel Taarabt and without the ball he turns into Mesut Ozil * End product: below average, as the hype fails to explain how his goals/assist stats are about the same as Andros Townsend's at his age * Mentality: if he's having a poor game expect toys to start flying - either two-footed into the nearest opposition full back, or straight down the tunnel when he's subbed I have no idea why the Turkish press is convinced that we're doing our bit for football in their country, either by signing any Turkish international under the age of 25 or by giving Bruma the perfect stage to prove he's...not very good, but how many windows need to go by without a single Turkish export in our squad before they notice that, if a Turk is playing abroad, the odds are it'll be in the Bundesliga?
Since the Patrik Schick stories keep coming, that's the perfect excuse to share the goal he scored against Crotone the other day

Nonsense imo, Walker will probably be back in the starting XI against the Scammers. He is also a better player than Trippier and the best RB in the league, it would be madness to even consider selling him.
We need to keep Walker, but in the event that he does demand to leave, then we need to make sure he goes abroad. I'm hoping that this is just a minor thing that's been caused by the standard rotation and it'll blow over.
£35m? Only £5m more than Sissoko? £15m less than stones If he really is throwing his toys out of the pram then so be it...never had him down as an idiot but would be a stupid decision to go imho.
Most of this story doesn't add up. If he was fit for the semis and was rested, I can appreciate that he would be frustrated. But the article fails to recall the fact that we have been rotating our FB's for the past 2.5 years. Danny Rose also very rarely plays 2 games a week yet we never hear a peap about him wanting out. It has nothing to do with trust or ability. If Poch seriously rated Trippier higher than Kyle, he would've started more than 3 PL ganes all season. He hasn't, because the rotation is simply a matter of the workload our system demands from the FB's, and even though Rose and Walker are two of the fittest athletes out there, they do more running (sustained sprinting, to be more precise) than any other player and need the rest every now and then. So why is Trippier preferred for the supposedly more important CL games? Because every interview Poch has given for the past 2 years points to the fact that he sees the league as his no.1 priority. And rightly so. As important as a good European profile is to the club, the harsh truth is we are years off of having a chance to win it. We are far, far more likely to win the league. That is a simple reality. I said as soon as I saw the line up at Wembley 'this is a repeat of Dortmund last year'. Two massive cup games essentially sacrificed so that we could prioritise the league. Then as now, Poch gambled that the team above us would drop points and wanted us to be in tip top shape to capitalise as and when that happened. Last season, we ended up doing the job for Leicester although to a large extent they did exactly what Chelsea are doing now: they knuckled down and finished the season with a swagger and a confidence. Then as now, I don't think Poch made the right call but I understand why he did it. Even most Chelsea fans predicted them dropping points at Everton - a scenario that would've changed the lay of the land completely and even enabled us to theoretically go top for a few days after WHU. Poch called the hand, Chelsea came up with a flush. And now, thanks to the bellend who awarded Sane a penalty, if Hull beat Sunderland it means that Boro are all but relegated when they face Chelsea on Monday. Barring a miraculous swing in points and GD.
But why didn't Walker play against Arsenal they all cry??? Because he had a stinker v Palace. End of.......
If Poch had fallen out with Walker then why bring him off the bench in the NLD, it`s just the usual morons trying to sell off our players and unsettle things.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p051pf0j BBC continuing to peddle the player exodus based on the fact that DL runs a tight ship and the players could earn more elsewhere. This time John Coss from The Mirror who sounds like he's trying to place himself as an insider. I would be inclined to follow a Fergie lead on this and start banning the journos/press who appear intent on destabilising the club. The Sun (because it's The Sun) and Mirror for starters!!
Think it's all crap to be honest. Walker may have been disappointed not to have started the derbies but he doesn't strike me as the type of guy who's suddenly going to demand a transfer. He said on a live video a few weeks back that he was "Tottenham til I die", so we'll see how much he means that over the summer. I really hope he stays, he's a great player and massively adored here. The one comfort we all have though is that IF the rumours are true and IF he does leave, we have an excellent replacement. Best case scenario - Walker stays, we keep the number one RB in the Prem, very happy days. Worst case scenario - We get £50m for Walker and promote Trippier, who's probably top 5 in the Prem, in his place.
If there are "disciplinary" issues now with Walker, then for consistency he has to go (cannot give him different treatment to Bentaleb, Townsend etc) . But he better start enrolling in German/Spanish classes and get accustomed to eating Paella/Bratwurst if it comes to that.
