Well that was nothing short of amazing, the prancing horse bolted in Australia, where did it go wrong for Mercedes? Who could ever imagine they could be over-cut in the pits! Could this be the start of a season long battle between Sebastian and Lewis? It's what we have all been waiting for... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image TV TIMES (BST): FP1-3AM FP2-7AM SP3-5AM Q-8AM R-7AM TYRES ALLOCATED: SS S M 2017 Predictions Championship x1 Smithers BrightLampShade tomcat606 moreinjuredthanowen
Lap record is 1:32.238 in 2004 (Schuey in the race I think?) and last years Pole was 1:35:402 and the fastest race lap was 1:39:824. I'm going for a 1:32.7 - I don't think we will break the lap record here.
Not sure what to expect here, I've gone for Lewis as I think we'll see a reaction from Mercedes. Hoping for a Ferrari win again, and if that happens we will have a great championship fight on our hands.
I did see that, and I find it a weird thing to do. Not that any of the drivers needs a trainer, but my understanding is that the trainers act like the drivers focal point in the pits. He inputs into the team in the pits in lieu of the driver. Not having that backup and constant person in your corner, in the pits, during the race, might come back to bit Lewis in the ass.
It's just the way he is, against all odds, still I rise etc. He's a classic case of Ibiza syndrome, an island on his own responsible and answerable only to himself
I can't help but feel with Hamilton that his ego and unshakeable self belief perhaps get him into situations that could be to his detriment, and he needs someone he'll listen to more often. His position as de facto Mercedes number 1, coupled with a celebrity manager and lack of a trainer now means he's got very few people to challenge him. I mean, granted he's got a decade of experience in keeping himself fit for racing, but there's going to be lots of little things on injury prevention and management, and putting together a balanced plan that I imagine he "doesn't know he doesn't know". When he has ideas like this I feel he needs someone like Lauda to slap him round the head and say "Don't be daft, just hire someone different and better if you want a change".
Another Lewis bubble about to burst? For this race though I think Mercedes will have this. Just need to get bottas in 2nd ftw
I have gone for Bottas , I think he needs a win ASAP , because I have a prediction . Alonso will walk away from McLaren well before the end of the season , but he will have a Merc drive set in stone for 2018 , Bottas will have to go somewhere ( back to Williams ) so he needs that first win ASAP IMHO .
tbh it doesn't really come as that much of a surprise, but I'll say again, at least this year they'll have a chance to improve it all the way through the season. It is the crumb of comfort I take, whilst trying to ignore their recent history of ineptness and the thought that fixing the problems may mean the PU no longer fits the current chassis.
I'm just suprised deployment is still a problem, given that was one of their fundemental issues last year? The internal combustion unit being unreliable or down on power is a solvable issue, because if the design is in the right ball park it comes down to internal components. The recover unit and deployment should effectively be stand alone.
It doesn't look it but I think everybody is pumped for this weekend. Can't wait. Where is cosi by the way, would have like to see his opinion on Oz...
