So 24 hours from the transfer broken to him signing. I like the way we're doing business. Makes me question every link though
Going to go with the concensus that he's a good signing. I just don't know much about him. But with his Celtic pedigree sounds like a really good bit of business. Well done Congers!!!
Funny we choose to announce it at 20 past 10 though please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Although he is quite young, I'd assume with his experience he is being signed with the first team in mind... Please god....
I think it was Funky who said he's got 4 Championship medals with Celtic! He's gotta be one of the first names on the teamsheet come Saturday lunchtime! After Catts of course! Always Catts first!!! Thats the law round here!!
Sunderland director of football Lee Congerton says he’d been tracking new signing Adam Matthews ‘for some time’ after completing the signing of the defender. Matthews has put pen to paper on a four-year contract in moving from Celtic in a £2million deal. The player is something of an unknown quantity but has been monitored closely by the Black Cats and will add valuable competition to head coach Dick Advocaat’s squad. Congerton said: “Adam is a player we have been tracking for some time. “Even though he is only 23 years old, he has a wealth of experience, and I am sure he will continue to improve under the leadership of Dick Advocaat.” Advocaat added: “We know that we need quality players to improve competition for places in the side, so Adam is a welcome addition to our squad and we are very pleased to welcome him to Sunderland.” Matthews began his career with Cardiff City, making over 40 appearances for the Welsh side between 2009 and 2011, before moving north of the border to Scottish giants Celtic, where he won four successive SPL titles. So Byram and Jenkinson was probably bollocks
Just felt like happening didn't it? I thought it might be left till after the weekend though, very quick.
Now you see... Wearing a shirt and holding a scarf... Not wearing a shirt and holding a shirt like Coates!!
No it wasn't. I found it. It was Tees last night on another thread, about 8:47 ish (apologies for my **** memory!) I don't know how to link it up but Tees reckons he's got 4 Scottish Championships behind him. He's obviously looked it up. Just my opinion, based on some of the clips on here but, maybe we've just got ourselves one big ****ing bargain! It's so difficult to compare leagues, but seeing him taking on SPL defenders and chewing them up, maybe (no dísrespect intended), isn't comparable with the quality he's gonna find in his face come August. But he looks like one big bloody good work in progress, if he's not already there yet. Well happy tonight I am!
