So then, we just played up with the league leaders
A good result on any other day,
But those four who we basically compete with
All won their matches just to make us pay

And leading with only ten minutes to go
We probably should have seen out the win,
But that´s been our Achilles heel all season
Holding on when the margin is quite thin

Leading by two or three goals is more easy
But just the one is never that secure,
And Toon would have wanted at least the one point
So they were pleased, of that you can be sure

And naturally our top six chance has not gone
As our unbeaten run goes on apace,
There´ll be more chances to beat those we have to
And make sure we go up just one more place

But two points lost, although it could be argued
´twas one point gained after a minute or two,
Neil´s pep talk certainly woke up the Magpies
While we were slower at turning the screw

And if match stats are anything to go by
We had the mouse´s share of shots and play,
Which suggests on the night, against the leaders
We got the best we could out of the fray.

It was disappointing to drop two points, but Toon are a very good team this year and so gaining a point is satisfactory! <ok>

I would say so too Dave, just a shame all around and below us, were winning.
