    This is the story today.
Good luck to the lad as I don't think he will get his chance with us.

Gouffran and Obertan should be out of the door before him. This lad is going to be a quality player. His passing is sublime at times and he's technically very good. Good luck to him.

We haven't got a f..king clue. Keep Obertan , Gouffran & Williamson yet let someone with promise go. The same may happen to young Kemen too and that would be even worse.

I reckon the lack of interest in gouff and obertan may have influenced things here.

If Gouffran even ****ing starts on Sunday then McClaren will get stick straight away. Likewise with Willo. They shouldn't even be here.

Strange one for me I like the lad. Maybe he can see his game time is limited. Needs to be playing now. Regardless I think this is a mistake.

Problem is in the middle we have Moussa, Anita, Tiote, Colback, Wijnaldum, De Jong. It's where we're strongest. He's not mobile enough to play wide so while I agree he's better than Obertan and Gouffran he plays in a different position to them so I can see why we're letting him go.

Personally I'd have kept him for competition, but for all we know he might be requesting to leave to get game time.

Daft to let him go...but he plays in a position where we are strongest (not Obertan or Gouf's position)

    Always rated and liked him

Tend to think this is due, more, to him wanting regular first team footy, and SM not being able to guarantee that in the next year or two. Rather than it being his shortcomings. Cant be on massive wages etc etc

    Wish the lad well

He gave the ball away quite a bit in front of our star back CB's Williamson and coloccini. I think we have kemen coming through, its going to be tough to mold them both into a cramped position. Good move to sell IMO.

    Source?
Is it a sale or a loan?
If the latter then fair enough as game time will do him good and I think he could be a regular in a year or two. If they are selling then they are stupid.

One Year remaining on his contract and done bugger all to deserve a new one.
Can't shoot, gives the ball away too much, particularly in dangerous positions, on the few occasions he's played.
Then there's the little matter of being constantly injured.

It's telling that he's off to a German 2nd Division Club, probably his level.

Keeping the likes of Abeid, lets Ashley off the hook, getting away with mediocrity.
But if mediocrity's your thing, have a tear or two for him.
With 17 Non-Home Grown Players allowed out of the 25 Man squad, he has to go.

But, at least he seems to be sellable, unlike some of the other crap, that's been accumulated over the years.

I do actually wish him the best and thank him for his efforts.

We cannot even give the likes of Gouffran and Willo away. Gouffran will end up at a French second division club; Willo at a League 2 side.

Willo could probably do a job in the bottom half of the Championship, to be fair.

If the job was getting his team relegated.

Probably the case with Gouffran and Willo, but it doesn't make Abeid any better, just part of the sorry state of the squad in general.

The simple truth is that all three are not up to the standard required to compete at a decent level in the PL.
