Well Mane got off to a good start. Just hope he comes back uninjured as there are some very iffy tackles in this competition

The quicker these internationals during the season finish the better, not just the ACOFN but qualifiers as well. Internationals should take place outside the recognised season, would avoid any Club vs Country controversy.

Matip may not be available for quite a while with this dispute going on.

Hopefully Cameroon don't stay in the competition long then.

Almost everybody's. I can only think of Brazil who start and end their domestic season at the beginning and end of the year.

**** knows, but with 54 countries I'm guessing it varies. Can't imagine many play during the height of summer in the North (north of the equator)

I would imagine they time it so it doesn't interfere with their season (or take a break in the season), it's not their fault if some players move to other country's.

I'd say most of the international African player no longer play in Africa.

btw I wasn't just referring to the ACOFN, the irritating mid season qualifiers in Europe could all be done in the off season.

I understand what you are saying but, if they played all qualifiers in the off season wouldn't we all complain the players got no rest?
Factor friendlies into that to give the managers a chance to get to know the players and form some kind of system and all of a sudden the summer break is down to a couple of weeks.

Cause professional footballers work so hard, 90 mins one day and few hours of training for the rest of the week.
If they were together for a concentrated period of time during the build up to proper games it would develop a squad mentality easier instead of a random game once every few months with 3 days together before hand.

So you wouldn't mind them not having a summer break then?
I am with you on that, I work a full year so should they for the money they get.

Does have it's down side though, can you imagine your star striker booking a 2 week holiday off in September or your keeper wanting his 2 week cruise in November?
