No great surprise, assuming it's factual.

It seems odds on that he won't be there next season.

    If true ...

    1. Wenger was right to lay down the law.

    2. Sadly for the Goons, that 1st half performance (among others) showed that
Sanchez is vindicated in his apparent anger at some of his other team-mates
    on-pitch efforts.

Spurs always get the selling club jibe, don't really know why, but I'll take it. Arsenal have to be a selling club because their star players outgrow the club.

    Glass houses...remember that Goons.

Various papers seem to have released this story virtually simultaneously.
Odd, unless they all quickly grabbed it from the first one.

It's a club that lacks the ambition of a player like Sanchez.

Every club bar Barca and Real Madrid are a selling club. They are the top of the tree, anyone leaving them is surplus to requirements.

    Not even ambition.
It seems to be all about team-mates too often not putting in a shift.

At Spurs there was a similar spat during Pochettinos' first season.
Those conclusively on the wrong side of the argument were cleared out ASAP.

If you join Arsenal, currently, you accept that you won't be challenging for the title or for CL glory.

It's patently obvious that the ambition of the current board doesn't stretch to spending the money needed to achieve that. Or to get shot of a manager who is too stuck in his ways and too arrogant to see that the game has moved on without him.

Sanchez knows, and that's why he'll go. The others? Who knows?

Not wumming but, Arsenal are closer to both of those things than Spurs (and indeed Liverpool too)

Being closer, yet still miles away, is not a badge of honour.

They were, but they've stagnated. Can you honestly see Arsenal winning the title?

Both of our clubs are showing some ambition, at least. We've improved a lot over the last 2-3 seasons and are now consistent top four challengers. Yes we have a new stadium to pay for so our buying will be limited.

Liverpool have a new manager, have invested a lot of money in new players. And now are genuine top four challengers.

In other words, we both seem to be moving forward, and if you're a player with ambition you sense that. Whether you buy into it is another matter, but you can see there's ambition currently there.

I don't see that with Arsenal. All I see is contentment with the status quo. I'm guessing that's what Sanchez sees too.

    Never said it was!

I agree we've both shown more ambition but I was going by recent seasons. Arsenal finished second last year.

I do agree with the above poster; I said earlier this season that Liverpool stood just as much chance of winning the CL as Arsenal this year <laugh>

I actually think Wenger will leave this summer (first time I've said that) and some arsenal fans will be in for a shock, I can see them going a similar way as Man Utd after Fergie stepped down.

As for Spurs, I said you'd go from strength to strength under Poch. The only question mark was whether he stick around if a bigger club cane calling.

The goons finished second but were out of the title race in March.
2nd mearly papered over some very big cracks.
For what it's worth, wenger is right not to let a player think he is bigger than the club. Unfortunately for him the player in question is currently not only their best player but in some games is their only player.
They are a one man team and only wenger can be blamed for that being allowed to happen imho

The above tweet is in Spanish, what he mentions something about a warrior not going the opposite direction or something like that.

He's basically saying a true warrior fights not for the hatred he's faced with, but for the love of those behind him.
