    Aye, and in the '60s I sat down on the terraces at half time at both grounds. Rule No1 in a pissing contest is check which way the wind is blowing.

    I think the Alan Shearer advert says it all about why other supporters dislike them - "the best fans in the world" then "the best pies in the north east" deluded but encouraged by the media - and they believe it

    A lot of them are 92'ers Grandpops - they only started supporting them when sky came along and it was "the thing to do"
