We don't deserve to stay up, but thanks to Man U's team and manager, probably will.

I don't know how I'll function at work on Sunday.

I hate Boro more than Newcastle for obvious reasons but I hope they get promoted and Newcastle stay up.
Where would Football be without derbys?? There's far to many Southerners in the Prem!!!

    What would you prefer,
    - avoiding relegation, ca$hly remains as owner, this season becomes a perpetual theme.
    - relegation, one season max in the championship + deadwood clearout + ca$hly sells the club - which would be likely scenario if you went down

Problem with this choice is that either no one takes all of our deadwood or it's only the deadwood that stays (inc Carver). On top of that if MA does sell, who does he sell to, and is that person going to be the owner equivalent of Carver replacing Pardew?

Personally I would want to stay in the Prem, and hope that survival we can manage to get a decent replacement for carver who brings in his own back room staff. with luck that manager would then be able to shift out the crap and bring in some decent players as well as trusting some of our youth such as Abeid, Aarons & Satka.

I would prefer option 2, but I don't think relegation would pan out like that. I think it would be disastrous.

Anything that involved Ashley leaving would be preferable. One problem though - he won't leave. He has a profitable business which is making his other main business more profitable by the year. He has no reason to sell as the grand plan is working. This was always his intention, he told Sir John Hall when he was buying us. It got a bit sour, he got a bit more aggressive.

He will simply cut his cloth, do enough to get promoted and then start the groundhog day all over again.

I don't mind if we go down to be honest. I've got no connection with the club (if it can be called that) in its current state. After 36 years I've decided golf is better anyway <laugh>

Read somewhere that sources close to Ashley have said that he is 'shocked' at the state of the club and is furious with Lee Charnley.

Can't see that alternative happening, Ashley knows he's onto a winner, he also knows he has all the power. Think we'll be mid table again next year if we go down.
