i have for a canny few years. Have my 18th donation Monday just gone and it was the slickest one yet. 15 mins from walking in to walking out. Only had one bad experience where a lass messed up and went right through the vein and out the other side. They had to stop half way through. Had a bruise like a fist afterwards and for several days. Gonna keep going until they tell me to stop I reckon. Seems the right thing to do. Any of you boys and girls and JPF donate blood? Or any other body fluids?
I donate blood every 2 or 3 years. That's how long it takes heartless bastards to regenerate blood according to the wench
I'll bring an IV tube and give you mates rates on Saturday. Bring a biscuit and a plastic cup full or orange squash please.
Look here, i'm enjoying this relegation-journey just as much as everybody else is. Not much. I won't stand-by and watch this board turn into some kind of 'out-of-focus GC'. You have been warned!
Forgetting the Prince of Darkness angle. Being serious for once, anyone that gives blood, has the gratitude of the likes of me. I would encourage anyone able to give blood, to do so. Blood Donors save lives... and we will get relegated and sell our best players...
The other added benefit of giving blood is that you get to sit in an adult sized babies high chair / rocker type seat which is really relaxing... Wait.... I'm onto something here. On a serious note I tried to donate platelets too but unfortunately my count was too low.
Yes I did and not to my surprise I received a letter basically saying my blood was more special ie rare than most peoples and asking for more, however I figured id hold onto it in hope it might be worth a fortune when im the only one.
I am also of the rare blood type and its particularly rare in Indonesia so I am on a special emergency donor list. Its great - they will even come to my office to take it. I have given them your name CC so expect a call.
Yes, I do. Or I did until I started living on the waggon wandering around the UK. I got my silver badge last year which pleased me but I would have got my gold one by now if I hadn't caught mononucleosis back in the 80s and so I couldn't give for a couple of decades. I try to give as often as I am able as I have ORhNeg which is always needed and can always be given to anyone without danger to them.
I went to give blood years ago but was told to go away when they stuck the needle in and my blood came out black and white.
I'm not allowed to give blood and can't even remember why. I filed it away with all of life's other rejections.
There's a subtle difference between donating and splashing it randomly around his house. He might be able to pack in his day job if he can bottle it and sell it on.
Good for you mate. My missus needed a transfusion of three pints a while back; saved her life basically. People don't realize what a huge effect things like donating blood can do. So well played sir! Of course the US being the US I can't donate - which I would otherwise - because of the mad cow thing. And it's actually a pity because I'm A- which is rare-ish I think.
