Hopefully it's new money to buy players to play alongside Sanchez and Ozil

I hope so. Big summer this one. Especially given the expectations of fans.

Your hiding it well though <whistle>
By the way save me a swig of your meths so I can drown my sorrows after Walker, Rose, Dier, Dele, Toby, Vertongen, Lloris and Kane all force a move away <wah>

That war chest seems more and more like a trust fund every season.

£150m gets you **** all in this day and age. Can guarantee half that will go towards new contracts. What's 80m get you? Not even Paul Pogba and he's ****e anyway.

you don't need to pay a **** ton of money to buy the type of players you need, you already have too much silk, you need a bit of sack cloth to give yourself a bit of strength.

I'd say we still need a top quality forward. That's where the money goes.

I still think the scariest statement from him signing a new deal is from Ornstein:

"Neither Arsenal nor Wenger see this definitely being his final contract - may be but equally might not."

I was hoping, praying, they would announce this as his final contract...they did the opposite.

Ok.. lets pretend the current most talked about rumours are true.

How would people feel about this?

    In:
Mbappe - £85 Million <yikes> The kid is crazy talented for sure. 18 years old and 26 goals. Is quick, good with the ball and can score with his head but thats a crazy high fee for a player with only one Season to his name.
Kolasinac - Free. Made the Bundesliga team of the year. Would probably mean either Gibbs or Montreal leaving.
Turan - £20-30Million. Can play AMF or either wing. Tricky, technical player. Would add quality to the side for sure.

    Out:
    Gibbs
    Sczezney
    Coquelin
    Campbell
    Perez - Unfortunately.

    --------------------------Cech--------------------------
    Bellerin-----Holding----Koscielny----Kolasinac
    -----------------Carzorla------Xhaka-----------------
    -------Turan-------------Ozil--------Sanchez------
    ------------------------Mbappe------------------------

    --------------------------Cech--------------------------
    ----------Holding----Koscielny----Gabriel---------
    Bellerin-----Xhaka------Carzorla------Kolasinac
    -----Ozil/Turan-----Mpabbe--------Sanchez-----

Mbappe. Holy moly. Unfortunately I'll only believe it when i see it somewhere other than the mirror or sun.

But, thinking how to make this in anyway realistic... Maybe Sanchez and/or Ozil have said they'll only sign new deals if certain players of certain reputation are signed. Evidence of ambition before new contracts get signed etc

Guardian reporting now that we did actually bid £87m but that has already been rejected.

Given Telegraph are also saying Monaco already rejected £105m from Real Madrid you have to assume our bid was more upfront. Either that or our negotiators are as bad usual.

I think Madrid often offer in instalments, maybe we offered up front cash

Classic Arsenal. Miserable fans after another average season. Announce war chest. Make bid that you have little to no hope of landing.

I look forward to us signing another player of Perez' level.

Also Ornstein has said that Nigerian lad rumour is balls. Probably used by the club to shade attempts at another deal elsewhere.

Yup Wenger already pulling out the classics. 87m bid for Mbappe when Real already had a 100m bid rejected earlier.

We tried boys but theres no value to improve our team <laugh>

The get Real Madrid offer + payment schedule depends on how well their
state-sponsored unsettling machine have worked on their targets.

I have no idea how they much said machine has been focusing on M'Bappe
this season (on a scale of one to Bale) .

The only saving grace we have is that Arsene spent a day last summer with the lad and he was apparently very tempted. Mock him though most do here he's highly thought of in the continent and with us you'd guarantee regular football with a chance to be the focal point. At Real he'd always be down the pecking order to some of the big stars. I mean, I'm clutching at straws here but it's one way to look at it. Obviously I hugely doubt anything will come of it.

I think we're all in the same boat about doubting any of these deals, been burnt too many times. Better to hibernate and hope for a Sanchez/Ozil type ending. But seriously we need at least two top signings to make an impression in the league.

I do wonder if people get taken in by these bullshit rumours? I mean, does it affect fans decisions on buying season tickets?
