Do they not have to fill in the gaps tho? Idk who Dick is asking to be in those gaps (front 3 or midfield), but they need filed, and if the 2 fb's fill them we get torn apart unless they can win the ball

No doubting Pva and Jones have been shocking so far. Iv'e every faith that dick will stop the rot at the back and still keep the attacking football !!

Agree on that, Kaboul was ok, O'Shea is a good talker but a poor actor. Really we need 2 full backs and a CB.

Joel Veltman, as I've said all summer, would be my CB pick, could we even steal a march with Vlaar and offer him a deal whilst injured?

I repeat, I'd bring back Revelliere, he kept shape well and was a very good defender, we need that far more than we need Jones runs with no intent to get back.

Cattermole was trying to win the ball. Far stronger than Sinclair but too eager! I have sympathy as Sinclair wasn't interested in the ball and hoped for catts to do that. Guarantee that he played catts by backing in before catts pulled him down. Not saying no penalty but it was clever from Sinclair and silly by catts. But had Henry done it and Sinclair took it down, turned and scored Catts would've been slated too!

Good point though. And surely we should be due a dodgy penalty decision in our favour against villa! Still bottom but optimism tonight

Oh and fletcher truly is rubbish!

I refuse to go back until Fletcher has left the club. My hatred of him distracts me from enjoying Sunderland. If he got a hattrick I'd now see no good in him. He is useless. Doesn't try at all. Get rid. How he get's near the first team is beyond me. I'd pick Mandron all day long.

Good result today although but disappointed we seemed to settle for a point.

Still lots to improve on but we do seem able to score goals.

We have to stop playing Defoe on the wing. Square pegs for square holes. Play watmore. Try Defoe up top until new striker brought in.

Funky reckons that Toivonen done good before fading (lack of match fitness?) and by all accounts M'Vila and Lens are looking good. Watmore is also getting plaudits. Panties been playing well. Five reasons to be optimistic.

Is our priority a striker or sorting the defence.

RB and LB are our weakest positions now. Maybe Larsson could play RB and if we can get him, Alonso LB with PVA moving to left wing.

Would Austin solve our problems or would two 7-8 million defenders be money better spent. We actually seem to have no trouble scoring so I would think the defence should be strengthened.

Played well for the first 10 mins. Disappeared after that., Might as well not have been on the pitch.

Why Fletcher is getting a game is a real mystery. He gave the ball away at least 3 times in the 2nd half. Surely we can't lose anything by putting Mandron in the team

Maybe by playing Graham and Fletcher DA is proving a point?

Can`t can`t think of a valid reason tbh.

Pleased with the point today albeit there was more for the taking if we stop the schoolboy errors...
    Pants....good performance
    Jones....still poor
    Kaboul...a lot better
    O'Shea...same old..same old
PVA...just goes missing at times...huge space behind
    Catts....liability now....leave him out
    M'Vila..next level class...worldie free kick
    Rodwell...same old problem...anonymous
Defoe...tired maybe due to game during week
    Graham....liability
    Lens...looking really good...good goal...tired....maybe carrying knock

    Fletcher...ffs....he cannot hold ball up
Toininven....could be another beast along side M'Vila...once gets up to speed...like the look
Larsson...same Seb...but looks to get involved

Watmore....should have been given run.....once Lens went no pace up front and then we sat too deep

Take point and move on...I might get shot down here but I like the signs. If we can get an unit up front and left back we are on way. We desperately need to get rid of the liabilities.....no team can carry the ones we have let a lone Sunderland...
