When we play youth players there's outrage. Why aren't we buying more experience? When they're sold it's utter bedlam. Why are we selling them?
No, it's just a different strategy. If this was implemented and explained to fans I, like many others I assume, would be happy with the philosophy.
So you're comparing us to Monaco. Right. How much do you think they're paying these players? Ther isn't a scout on the go who won't know 90% of those players before they make it. They pay them top wages to go there.
In fairness, aren't we doing similar - even if it is slowing down now? I think Bruce's reign as manager is now into the positive net spend because the majority of players bought have been sold for significantly more than we bought them for - Maguire for 17m (2.5), Robertson for 8m (2), Long for 12 (7), Chester for 8 (250k), Brady for 8 (3m I think?) etc. - they have been replaced as well - Clucas, Odubajo, Hernandez all worth more now than when we signed them, although Abel will go for free if he doesn't sign a new deal. Then Stewart this window so far. As I said, we've slowed down because the owners are less willing to invest at all, but the same philosophy at least in part as Monaco is being employed. I think the hope now from the Allams is we will be able to produce 2-3 strong youngsters (Batty, Bowen, Clark) who will command half-decent fees.
I wonder if there's some clown on a message board in Monaco accusing Mbappe of being a money grabbing ****...
I got an email from the club today, asking me to sponsor a player, it called us Hull City. It seems they'll call us Hull City if they think it increases the chances of us shelling out a couple of grand to sponsor a player.
Ye selling their best players and buying cheap. Way to go. Surprised you haven't put their season pass prices
Maybe for the sake of accuracy PLT you should have said 'the Allams' rather than 'we'. But the point is well made. And they don't just stop at pissing off young talent, almost anyone with half a brain employed by the club is out of it as the first opportunity arises. Epitomised by a a picture of Hudd recently in his Derby kit looking like a man re-invigorated enjoying life again. Rather than the hang dog look he had during the latter stages of his time with City. ALLAMS OUT.
Maybe for the sake of accuracy we should say Hudd had the chance to leave at the first opportunity, arose last season when he was a fee agent. But chose to sign on with us again. Crazy I know
If we're being accurate, he signed with us again on Premier League money and walked with his cheap release fee as soon as he got another offer in the Championship.
A quick heads up. It would be wrong to mention Barry Bennell too near that quote, so please don't do it.
Hudd and Elmo signed on because of Bruce. I think there was an interview with Elmo who confirmed this and stated how surprised he was once Bruce had gone. Also eluded to the fact that had he known Bruce was going he probably wouldn't have signed it. Either way both players have jumped ship at the first chance they've had since then. Crazy I know but had boy wonder not pissed off Bruce enough for Bruce to walk, there is a good chance that both would still be here. It was clear Ehab was trying to get Bruce to walk so he didn't have to pay compo at the start of last season. I hope the couple of Million he saved on compo was worth the millions we lost from the Premier League money. After all, the shambolic pre-season, caused by no one other then Ehab, cost us our premier league place.
Why wouldn't he want Bruce to go? Every single poster on here bar two knew he was ****ing **** and needed sacking.
