I think that we now have the class partnership up-front in Connor and Jermaine...just as we used to have in Niall and Kevin...a good little 'un and a good big-'un !!We now have a proper threat up-front,and a good back-line..Onwards and upwards, and no relegation problems.
Wow, Let it go, it's gone. It's almost offensive the way Defoe is being thrusted into KP comparisons. It's taking the piss lads, show Kev some respect. And Connor Wickham being put in the same category as Quinn? Quinn had a gorgeous touch, Conner is in amongst some of the worst strikers we've had in terms of controlling a football. Wake up man. Cloud cuckoo land. .
Class partnership?? are you for real or what ? Defoe maybe, but Wickham is a powder puff as far as I'm concerned, I thought that Charlie Oatway and Gus would have taught him by now to use his height and weight to put himself about a bit, but the only place he's putting himself about is in the pubs and clubs in Newcastle from what I hear.
****ing hell, slow down and have a think about what you have just wrote. You can't put these 2 partnerships in the same sentence, not yet.
Thought the difference yesterday was that we had proper overlapping fast full/wing backs. Two defence splitting passes thru to the wings, two superb crosses thru to our forwards. Result two goals. Easy really. Need to make allowances tho that Burnley looked as dysfunctional as we have in the previous weeks. Still I'm feeling a lot more positive.
We caught Burnley at a good time, we usually don't get this sort of luck with our schedule, but the Xmas exertions must be catching up on them as it is bound to. But that is not to take anything away from a very good performance from our team and our manager, who was quick to caution everybody that this is just the first step to safety, there is still work to be done, but yesterday was all we could have asked for.
I don't get it, Poyet says we can't go back to the days of Quinn and Phillips and then proceeds to play a small/tall strike partnership.
