These are the league games in which an opposition player has been sent off. Seems like a lot of games and a lot of sendings off are quite early in the game. Date: v(h/a): Time of dismissal(mins): Score @ dismissal: Final score: 9/8/14 Chester(a) 14 0-1. w0-5 6/9/14. Alfreton(h) 59 0-1. w2-1 21/10/14. Braintree(h). 27. 1-0. w3-0 6/12/14. Torquay(a). 38. 0-1. w1-2 20/12/14. Chester(h). 51. 1-0 w3-0 26/12/14. Aldershot(a). 90. 1-2. w1-3 7/2/15. Woking(h). 26 0-0 w2-1 28/2/15. Altrincham(a). 4. 0-0. w3-1 21/3/15. Welling(h). 38 2-0. w5-0 In other words, Barnet have played 463 minutes this season against ten men, scoring 20 goals during that time.
Maybe we should send our strikers on an acting course pre season or we could just win fairly and because we are a better team
Great stats Gastro. That puts AMOT (statto) to shame I bet all those times the red card resulted in a penalty too. They have had it easy really. We have had to fight all game to break down the opposition and just about score late goals while they get someone sent off every game and then tucks away the penalty and then can just sit back without even trying. Their players must be feeling very refreshed. What pisses me off though, something else going Barnets way is Akinde. The amount of fouls he gives away and its rare he gets booked. He has given away more fouls than any other player in our league. Before the last set of games, Akinde had given 85 fouls away and booked just 8 times. Lockyer however has given away just 17 fouls and booked 7 times. And they have won more penalties than any other club. They have won 17 penalties now. The next team is Eastleigh and us who have won 8 penalties. So they have won over double amount of penalties than the next team. So not only do they seem to get a lot of penalties, they get to face 10 men a lot too. And add that the dirtiest player in the league gets away with murder. He should have had another suspension by now which would have been at least 2 games as would have reached over 10 yellows. Those 2 games could benefit us! Barnet have certainly had the rub of the green!
I honestly can't remember any team racking up these sorts of stats. You expect most sending offs to be quite late in the game when legs are tired and maybe there's a second booking. 6 of these sendings off were in the first 40 minutes. Poor old Altrincham lost their man after 4 minutes. A few of the sendings off were also a result of fighting. Torquay's Aaron Downes was one of those. He wouldn't say boo to a goose. And as you say, why has Akinde avoided more bookings, given his fouls conceded record? Apart from winning all these games, Barnet have also scored 20 goals during the time they've been playing against ten men. Without those goals and without those wins, Barnet start to look very average. These stats seem so unusual that someone should take a long hard look at what Barnet are doing here.
In contrast, it's happened just twice in our games - v Wexham and v Welling, both at home and both dismissals happening after 60 minutes or so.
They are wonderful stats - it does indeed put me to shame! Sorry I don't contribute many stats myself, I just haven't been able to commit much of my time to this site recently, but I will start trying to make an effort again soon.
