Congratulations on being an author Mr Tigermaul!

The only Hull novel I've read before now was 'The Dark Winter' by David Mark..

    Doesn't sound like a page-turner. Need a catchier title.

I should be on commission but honestly, if you like a taut well crafted thriller, based in East Berlin, set during the cold war, with a good storyline, written by a lercal, get Stasi Child. Christ, its almost free on Amazon. As a child of the cold war, who also served in Germany, loved the book.

There's also some author beef between ours and some dirty codhead from the rough side of the river, so, you owe it to the city, your family, and to yourself to support the lad.

I've seen Deutschland '83. Is that enough background research for my hit spy novel?

Can you make a film as I haven't the patience to read a book?

I've corrected my previous post - it's Mr Tigermaul who's written a novel not Mr Tigerbalm..

Great. Better get writing. I'm gonna base it on a novel by a man named Leer.

    David,

Just listened to your interview - you speak very well and it's a fascinating period of history - and yes a lot of women still have positive memories of life in East Germany, not everything in life is simply black & white.. interesting you're a musician too - I've heard the Big Billy tribute song - you again!! The punk scene in Berlin was heavily infiltrated by the Stasi.. they were certainly worried about the power of music and youthful rebellion..

You said you were coming to France for the 'Quais de Polar'.. are you coming to Lyon or nearby? I'd love to meet you & maybe even help you out with some interpretation.. of course you may even speak pretty good French!

But even as an avid reader it would be great to chat with an author especially one from near where I'm from (Beverley)

    I'm ordering Stasi Child..

    Buy the books folks!!

Best of luck with the book. I've written lots of textbooks but my novels have never got past their second readings at the publishers. I'm very jealous!

I wrote a book on bridge featuring a new bidding system about 40 years ago but it too was rejected.

"Once upon a time in a city which although was in this world but not sufficiently of this world, a pitiable creature shuffled unnoticed into Funky Fish and ordered patty & chips twice.."
