Yes Bellerin was horrible. Totally agree. But Bellerin was IN FRONT of the other player...got pushed from behind (and in high speed that is enough)....if that wasnt a foul then wasnt the foul by Xhaka either.
Still take that. Arsenal didn't gain on us at least, just hope spurs win tomorrow, or at least get a draw.
Ok well were were terrible for 60 mins. Kos and Bellerin had shockers. Wenger is the worst manager in the league when it comes to tactical changes. Perez deserves to be a starter. Chamberlain should be sold.
In general play, I thought Giroud was crap, yet he somehow ends the game with a goal and two assists. That's football for you I guess, Perez made an instant impact when he came on, I was calling for him to start for a reason. Great finish and I love his tenacity. Glad to have a forward that can cross the ball accurately too. Xhaka and Bellerin had their worst performances in an Arsenal shirt, they should both be fined a week's wages for their incompetence. Overall, we salvaged a draw from what was a wonderful display of ineptitude. But we needed to win and we didn't, so I'm still pretty pissed off with the result and even more pissed off with how we played for the majority of that game.
Its not really about Giroud. It's about the fact Sanchez should be playing upfront. He's the better player, scores more goals.
Felt we could have gone on to win that if we'd had another 5-10 mins. We only have ourselves to blame though, although I thought the pen was contentious and there was a foul on Bellerin for the Bournemouth 3rd. A point isn't really good enough, but it's a point when we were staring a 3-0 loss in the face, so a point earned I suppose.
We also play with more fluidity and have more mobility to interchange our front four when we have Sanchez up front. Our quality of football improves as a result.
It's all bitty ****e. I hate penalties that are given for bit of contact. It's a contact sport FFS. It's also a sport played at speed, and that requires movement. There's a vast difference to Francis' tackle, which barely merits a yellow, and Aguero's the other week.
Also concerned with the injuries we picked up in this game. Losing Coquelin is a blow with Elneny off to the ACON. Looked like Kos picked up an injury too, hopefully he's not out for the next game. Also Perez needs to start in the next game, he's proved himself and earned a starting place imo.
1) Their third was a foul 2) the disallowed goal for hand ball was harsh imo. 3) Red was harsh but didn't cost Bournemouth the match. It was their terrible last 20 minute of panic and poor substitutions which cost them. 4) from 3 nil down it is a very good result. 5) Bournemouth are a decent team so a draw away to them is ok. 6) happy new year (but not football wise obviously)
100% agree. Not only did he score a stunner, his movement and speed completely switched the game in our favor. I'd like to see a lot more from him, so I hope Wenger gives him his chance.
1. Agreed. 2. The Ball was going wide until it hit the Bournemouth player and went it. No goal. 3. Agreed 4. Agreed. 5. Agreed. 6. Same (and **** off)
Apart from Chelsea and United, everyone are dropping points...their turn will come too. Keeping in touch is what matters...and you are just about doing that
It was a chance to gain some ground tonight, but a point away at Bournemouth isn't a tragedy. It's just the nature of our performance for the first hour that is disappointing. If we'd applied the same mentality in the last 30 mins for the whole game, we probably could have won it.
This is why I love Alexis. You can see just how badly he wanted to win this. All our players should have been this pissed off too that we didn't win, rather than gleefully accepting the draw.
I'm still annoyed at the fact Wenger always makes his substitutions between 60-70 mins regardless of what is happening on the pitch. Perez on at half time may very well have won us this game. Its just ****ing infuriating.
