Shorter than usual match thread as my computer seems to not like this forum so phone blog it is.
City struggling only three wins in the last 20 league games bit of unhappiness around Ashton Gate at the moment.
Strange that they have struggled but if you keep signing players from North End it is no surprise, last couple of games at Deepdale have been draws, expect a close game on Tuesday plus a warm welcome for Bailey Wright

The last night home match of the season sees us take on the misfiring visitor from Ashton Gate who have had a shocking run of results of late with only three wins in the last twenty games although recently they did stuff Huddersfield and scored a late winner at Wigan.
There has been lots of unhappiness at Ashton Gate with performances and especially with the manager Lee Johnson, given the amount of money that has been spent it is a bit os a surprise that they are only one place and one point above the Venky's for the last relegation place.
They have a decent squad with the likes of Tomlin, Flint and Abraham who has been an inspired loan signing mind you though they signed two from us Brownhill and Wright which may explain some of the reasons for their struggles.
Always interesting when ex's return to clubs, Brownhill if he plays will get a decent receoption was a bit unlucky at Deepdale, always seem to be on midfiekder who always got picked in front of him. Wright however might get a bit of stick, open secret for most of the earlier part of the season that he was leaving and when he eventually rocked up at Ashton Gate some of the alleged comments won't have help him. Always gave 100% for us although not blessed with speed no doubt will score a last minute winner on Tuesday.
After yesterday's defeat Johnson apologised for their first half effort given that they are fighting fo their lives that does sound a bit worrying when you need points.
They tend to get a point at Deepdale and if Wilbraham gets on the pitch he usually scores against us.
Interesting scenario do we donate three points to City to send Blackburn closer to the drop or do we try and close the gap to the play offs.
Squad wise Baptiste got some time on the pitch, Gally went off injured, Johnson may be back i his wife/girlfriend has sprogged, Welsh still out injured and has still not returned to training six months on from his injury, Grayson may go 352 to match City but we'll see on Tuesday.

Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol:

"We have got to make sure that our big players turn up and put in good performances.

"They [Preston] have flaws and weaknesses like all clubs in the Championship and we can only exploit them if we are at it.

"We have to make sure that everything we do is positive and on the front foot. We have to be the best team on the day."

The only disappointment last night is that there were fewer than 10000 home supporters to see the demolition of a Bristol City side who were destroyed by a four goal blitz in 20 second half minutes. City at times during the second half were desperately poor but we did play some sexy football at times led by the McGeady man and the Pearson.
An evenly contested first half saw North End create some good scoring chances the best falling to McGeady close in however his shot lacked power and was scrambled away for a corner. City had some good passages of play down the left hand side were O'Dowda gave Clarke trouble, and Cotterill had two shots one saved at the second attaempt by Maxwell. Up front for City the rangy Tammy Abraham caused problems(should get him on loan next season)
North End took the lead halfway through the half McGeady fed Robinson down the left hand side his cross found Barkuizen whose shot was notoverly powerful but found it's way into the net.
City fought back Maxwell saved a Wright header then the ex North Ender had a shot saved at the second attempt by Maxwell, too be fair to the visitor they played some decent stuff in the first half however none of us expected the carnage that happened in the second half.
Early City attack in the second half, North End broke away, Barkuizen to Robinson, who was flattened by Flint in the box, McGeady did the rest although Fielding got his hand to the ball.
Wasn't long until it was three, Gallagher's free kick was brilliant as was Clarke's powerful header, about this time City started to fall apart. The fourth was another Gallagher assist his pass to Barkuizen teased defender Magnusson who thought he could intercept the pass, he was wrong, Barkuizen advanced on goal squared the ball to Robinson who I thought looked slightly off side wasn't given 4-0. Robinson got the fifth as well as City failed to deal with a short corner. Could have been six but after some sublime work by McGeady his rocket of a shot was well saved by Fielding.
North End then declared taking both McGeady and Pearson off, with that the game ambled to a close with City trying to get some sort on consolation was not to be though.
So with six games to go the club with the third smallest budget are still in a chance of the end of season play offs four points behind Fulham, five behind the Owls and two trips to West Yorkshire within the next 10 days.
