Burnley was perfect test for us. With Jose's mind games every team will set shop just like Burnley at Turf moor against us.
Our players didn't deserve anything from that game. Shameful.

We need to maintain double digits lead over Jose until last 6 games to have a very good chance for the title.

    Conte 5;
Positive subs Fabregas, Willian & Bats. But timing is all messed up.
Would have given Batters more minutes.

    Thibo 5
Good saves. But partially responsible for their free kick goal. Blame it on the elements - but he should atleast get a finger to that ball.

    Cahill 2
Cannot cover Luiz. Cannot face free running attackers, nervous wreck.

    Luiz 3
Showed glimpses of his old self. Missed crucial through balls - we would / should have lost that match.

    Azpi 7
    Dave is his usual impeccable.

    Moses 7
He provides great dribbling runs. If only his crosses are good enough. His assist to Pedro's goal was a mishit - mind.

    Alonso 2
Lazy & Clumsy! or his usual self.
Cannot take on defenders with his dribble or cannot cross for toffee. Cannot Defend properly. Had only meaningful tackle around 89th minute.

    Kante 8
    One man show; Ask Leicester

    Matic 1
One of his worst ever performance. He must be ill or something. Awful. Responsible for their goal.

    Pedro 3
Except his one off perfect finish - he offers nothing. Nothing. Cannot get to the speed of the game.
Willian would have got us all 3 points. Conte's mistake!!

    Hazard 6
Tried his best. Consistently fouled by Burnley.

    Costa 4
Took all of first half to get to the pace of the game. Didn't control or complete one pass in the first half.
Second half - cannot get one ****ing shot away!! Too much dribbling in the box for no obvious reason.

    Subs:
Fabregas 4 - He looked tired. Wasn't surprised. Missed some half decent shots.

Willian 7 - Provided some impressive runs in the 10 odd minutes he had

Batters 5 - Conte's mistake. He got only 4 minutes to show his stuff.

Bottomline - if this is one off, we should be up for the title. However if our system is not working against teams sitting like Burnley - we are doomed.
FFS - people will hail Jose for the title then <doh>

What is it with you and Jose?
There is next to zero chance United are going to win this title.
That has been the case for about 3 months.
Yes they are much improved and are clocking up points to sneak into the top 4, but seriously, you need to get over your Jose fixation

People said Burnley would be a tough test, and it was.
    Well played.
Got a couple of "easier" games coming up, which hopefully we should get maximum points from.

Flat performance all round. Our goal was a cracker though, Pedro is one of our most valuable players now. Feel for Willian, who is also great but Pedro has not deserved to be dropped yet in my book. Kante another excellent game, the rest.......... just flat as a tack. One or two put in occasional good shifts, Moses in particular, but team performance below par.
Credit Burnley for that, they made it very hard ,which was expected, but they came at us hard as well. Take that one point and happy to see the back end of their place for this season, it's a slip up waiting to happen for more teams than just us.

    Yup.
They could have won the game too.
A result like this may have been needed, give them a kick up the backside, just make sure they haven't already won the title in their heads.
It's still all to play for.

Was only expecting a point before the game although it is obviously disappointing not to get 3 after going ahead so early. Would like 12 points from the next 4 games though....

Why was Alonso's performance considered lazy? He covered the most ground of any of our players and was the only Chelsea player in the top 5....does nobody rate him? I think he's brilliant and if it wasn't for Kante he'd be signing of the season.

Alonso was not only slow, he lost possession so many times in the game.

PS - Cescy runs the most distance in any match he starts. That doesn't necessarily mean he covers all that ground.

I think he's a very good player and does very well for us. If I'm going to nit pick, I wish he had a bit more pace.

thought it would be a tough game but was still expecting 3 points. Disappointed to take the lead and then give it away from a needless free kick conceded by matic.

Costa has really gone off the boil recenly. Apart from his good ball to hazard he didn't really do to much. Before the 3 up top would pass more fluidly whereas we are seeing some of the 1 touch passing but in general theres a lot more everyone taking too many touches (costa in particular).

    absolutely!

this is the only positive from that game. All around poor, otherwise.

P.S need a way to hide your big pix of Ariana. Cannot use this at work anymore.
Or else will have to add to you to the ignore list.

I agree with you, he's had a few poor days but has improved in leaps and bounds for me. He scores goals, he adds plenty to our attack, and he puts in every game. Given it's his first season, like Pedro has done, I think he'll improve out of sight next season as well. He has more than enough ability and talent for Conte to improve his defensive work,( which needs fine tuning) as he has brought improvement to Moses, Luiz etc. His future competition with Ake is just the thing for the team.

Ha yeah , 8 now though. I said from the off that if we finish above City, we'll win the league. I stand by that.

City were my tip from the start and they are starting to worry me a little now, especially as we still have to play them. If they beat us, that's a 5 point gap with 12 other games to play.

Especially odd as he was the first poster to turn on Jose last year.

Yeah, although if we beat them it looks good for us. A lot of football to be played yet

Their defence is pretty terrible, I fancy our chances against City at home.
They can more than match us going forward, but defensively, we are leagues ahead.

They think they are starting to get it defensively though (maybe they havent played the right teams to attack them). They've looked solidish and Caballero is actually playing pretty well for them. However they are still in 3 competitions including CL so that's good for us
