What do we say after the loss to Burton Albion, "oh so close, nearly did it, just missed out," and there'll be plenty of ifs, buts and shoulda woulda coulda's, along with varied questions aimed in all directions; but reality says, we weren't good enough. While mighty nicked some of our wheels, some effing barsteward punctured our remaining tyres at the Pirelli stadium, where's the Michelin man when you need him. Mathematically we can still get back into playoffs, but it'll need a miracle, a miracle that Fulham, Wednesday, Hudders and Reading will be praying, and playing not to happen; can't see it happening at moment unless mighty pops over and nicks Fulham's wheels. After listening to match, and watching the short highlights, it seems Burton wanted it more to stake their claim for championship football next season, they certainly achieved that by doing a Dr Frankenstein on Leeds and pushed the stake in deeper with their 2nd goal. Both Burtons goals came from down the middle play, they made 2 defence splitting passes within 2 minutes of each other and scored 2 goals. I've been saying all season we need more attacking football down the middle, other teams do it to us, so why couldn't we do it to them. Some are saying the wheels come off after the Sutton game, others say we never had a plan B, and some say our football wasn't good enough, whichever way you want to look at it, whatever excuses are dug up, it comes back to the manager/coach, he takes the plaudits, he accepts responsibility. We're all suffering, we're all disappointed, we're all down in dumps, all we can do is pray for a miracle.... Youtube highlights Dailymotion highlights Monks interview Redders interview
I did notice yesterday both goals were straight through the middle, disappointing when we have two defensive midfield players and two very good CBs. Might be worth dropping Jansson now, last thing we want is him bringing a three game ban into next season assuming we still have him. Didn't realise Burton scored from their first two chances
One of our biggest problems all season has been our lack of shots on goal and on target, with a few games aside of course. Virtually every game someone has mentioned our lack of shots, and shots on target. We've been relying on wing play and crosses imo.......
You post yours, I post mine, if you don't want to read'em don't read'em, simple isn't it.... p/s, don't tell me how to post my comments thank you very much, it ain't your place.
I'm a nazi, he'll do as he's told. It'll be good practice for life in the one party state we are heading for
Maybe if your hero hadn't advised Radz not to invest in January the outcome would have been different.
