Fancy a 2-0 or 2-1 win for us at Bury. We are showing superb character, team spirit and have put together our customary late surge of churning out good results. Personally, I am not convinced that we will make the top 6, but will be happy to be proved wrong - wont be the first time! One or two of our remaining away games worry me, Wimbledon + Peterborough and it will take a superb effort to win all our remaining home games. The worst thing might be going into the last game against Millwall needing a win - what a tense, nervy afternoon that would be. Still with this team of ours, as we all know too well, absolutely anything could happen. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!!
I haven't really followed Bury's form of late but after our last two results and with a sniff of the play off's still in the air I would expect a confident performance from the Rovers and hopefully another maximum return.
Away Form @Bury PLD 22 W 3 D 8 L 11GF 17 GA 37 Biggest Gas Win 2-0 - Saturday 18th November 2006 Biggest Bury Win 7-2 Tuesday 25th December 1956
An interesting fact/stat was in the 1956/57 season when we played Bury away on Christmas Day we lost 7-2 but the very next day (boxing day) we beat them 6-1 at Eastville.
Our defence is better than it was and their defence is still pretty poor. I think we'll win this one, but probably by the odd goal.
Team News: Rovers are without defender Peter Hartley, who remains sidelined with a long-term injury. Darrell’s View: “It’s just another game for me [regardless of league position], we know there will be challenges, we respect them fully but it feels like I’m doing the same interview every week - it’s going to be a tough game. “We’re playing a team that have a lot to play for but it’s 11 men vs 11 men out there and we obviously want to come out on top.” Opposition: Bury find themselves in 19th place in SkyBet League One, with a points tally of forty-one from thirty-seven games so far this campaign. In their last ten outings, Bury have picked up four wins, four draws and two defeats, which included a three-game winning streak with victories over Chesterfield, Charlton and Coventry. #12 - James Vaughan - Striker: The twenty-eight-year-old striker is Bury's leading goalscorer this campaign, with twenty goals to his name in all competitions. The forward arrived at Gigg Lane on a free transfer in the summer and was quick to open his account for the Shakers, with his first goal for the club coming in his first league game of the season against Walsall. Vaughan bagged four goals in Bury's victory over Peterborough United back in January, scoring an impressive seven goals in three games that month. Since the start of 2017 Vaughan has found the net on ten occasions, including goals against Coventry and Gillingham in recent weeks. Last Time Out: Rovers secured an impressive 4-2 win against the Shakers at the Memorial Stadium in December 2016 with Rory Gaffney, Ollie Clarke and Peter Hartley on the scoresheet. Tickets: Supporters will be able to pay on the day at this evening’s game. You can take a look at Bury's guide to travelling to Gigg Lane by clicking here. Betting: League sponsors SkyBet offer the following betting odds for Tuesday's game: You can back Rovers to pick up all three points with odds of 8/5 with the draw priced at 12/5. 66/1 are the odds on Rovers repeating December's score line and Gigg Lane and you can get odds of 11/2 for Billy Bodin to score the first goal.
