it would be good also to see millwall back in the championship as im sure millwall could give newcastle a run for their money !
Actually, I agree with Sniffer. I'd love to see Millwall back in the Championship. I love their attitude, and they are probably closer adherents to the 'robust' aspects of the Don's style of play than us or anyone else. Pity for them that they can't get anywhere close to the other aspects of his style. (Or us, for that matter). And no Glory, not a 'cast', or 'bait', or a bloody harpoon for that matter - I actually do love the rough & tumble aspect of football that the purists are trying to stamp out these days. We've always had a number of exponents. Batty was prolly the last of the experts. My only hope for the future is Phillips. He's got a bit of nasty in him. Love it!
Love it or not WJ and not arguing if it is right or wrong but... there is no room for it in today's football. Look at Pontus this season, he will now have a reputation like Batty and Bowyer before him and the marginal decisions will now always produce a yellow causing your team problems. Once a player gets that reputation it is impossible to shake off, the ref is just itching to pull the card out the moment a heavy 50/50 tackle goes in. Get to the PL with the players diving about even more and you'll be spending more time watching from the stands. Not just that an early yellow and you're walking a tightrope the rest of the game...
If you examine the yellows that Pontus got, most of them are for recovery 'tackles' after he lost the ball pussy-footing around in a dangerous area. Think he got one for the shirt off too. There are still a few dirty barstewards about, and they don't seem to be card magnets particularly. Look at Costa, for instance. Don't come dirtier than him, and how many yellows has he had?
yes i agree there was abit of the dirty leeds last night newcastle v leeds i was jumping up and down in the bar in angeles city , philippines when we scored in the last miniute of injury time
Afternoon all. Autos have gone. But 4th will suit us nicely, as I don't think we will quite catch Huddersfield. I wonder if Glory, for so long complaining we weren't really making an progress and might even be in a relegation dogfight, now accepts that PL is within our grasp, if not this season then certainly next.
We wont be fourth, but we have made temporary progress. If we dont go up we will be needing replacements for Pontus, Bartley, Taylor, Pedrazza, Hernandez, Wood and Gary Monk and we will be back to square one and waiting for Cellino to organise a pre season. More by good luck thsn anything cellino got very lucky this year. As a reminder the season starts in August not September..
cheers millwall steve leeds outside the top 6 now but still have a chance as fulham have to play hudders , and sheff wed so leeds could go back above them but to be honest overall for the whole season i think leeds deserve a play off place more than sheff wed or fulham
Bartley at fault for wolves goal as he did not track the dicko into the box he let him get away from him
No probs sniffer lad and good luck for your last 3 games, hope you boys get in but it's sometimes only about who hits form at the right time and not who's been there all season long.
