Can't argue with the figures, we have got the money side of the dealings looking healthy. Whether we have got the football aspect correct is anyones' guess. On the face of it, we have let slip more than a couple of players we would love to have in the squad now. Others we let go have not made the grade elsewhere, despite plenty on here, including me, thinking they could be world beaters.Then again, several loanees are performing brilliantly, so you'd have to think that process is working well. I guess that will always be the case when we carry such a big squad of juniors and loan players. It does look as if Conte is at least trying to bring through some kids. Who knows if this is the owners philosophy, or if buying proven class will remain our default method? For what it's worth I sense that we are changing the spend and buy methods, and including upgrading young talent into the equation. We seem to be only buying in smaller numbers when absolutely necessary. Smart move .
