He's been released by Cardiff. As we are lacking in defensive options, would it be worth getting him on a four-month contract for cover? That then enables our loan space freed up by Stewart, instead of being used for a centre-half, to used on either a left back or a more attacking player (Greening looks unlikely)

    Thoughts?

Isn't he really injury prone? Good player but can't be doing with more gardners if so

I don't know to be honest. Can't hurt to sign him as temporary cover though, surely?

statement on the club's official website today confirmed: "Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that the paperwork has been finalised to terminate the contract of defender Chris Riggott by mutual consent.

"Chris has left the club following the best endeavour of the player and coaching staff to see his return to action following injury this season.

Following discussions it has been agreed to release Chris as a free agent, from which he can explore new possibilities within the game. The club would like to put on record our thanks to the player for his time at Cardiff City."

sounds like he is totally broken unfortunatly, I remeber people talking him up as a future england player when he was at derby.
