Although I think the goal shouldn't have counted it's clear that the rules need changing. Any attacking advantage gained through the ball hitting the arm/hand should result in a free kick being awarded to the opposition, regardless off intent. This would mean that defenders in the box would not be penalised for ball to hand, but you wouldn't have uncertainty with ridiculous things like the Sanchez goal.
Couldn't agree more. Its just the rules don't state that at present, no matter how much we think allowing the goal was stupid.
Just got an email from my Arsenal season ticket holding brother in law, nothing to do with the game, but as a PS at the end he put 'We accept the ref made a terrible decision on the clear handball of Sanchez last Saturday'.
Can you get comment from your brother in law re drug use? Just to settle the other thread? Getting a bit silly now.
Probably not going to get the endorsement required. Mind you, an Arsenal fan? FFS What would you expect.
It worse than that, he's actually a Leeds fan. At least he was a Leeds fan and still claims to be a Leeds fan, but he's a season ticket holder at Arsenal, as it's now his local club and more significantly it's his son's local club. To be fair, he is from Leeds and still goes to some games, in addition to going to Arsenal and his son supports Arsenal, Leeds and City (in that order). He was on a skiing holiday once and it happened that Arsenal, City and Leeds all had televised games while he was there and he wore the relevant shirt to watch each game. The people in the hotel thought he brought a kit for every club, just in case...
