Fans’ favourite Clint Hill pens one year extension at Loftus Road ...

    • Clint Hill signs one-year contract extension
    • Defender extends stay until 2016
    • Hill has made 170 appearances for QPR in five-years
FANS’ favourite Clint Hill has signed a new contract at Loftus Road.
The popular 36 year old, who joined QPR in the summer of 2010, has today (Friday) put pen to paper on a one year extension.
Hill, who has made 170 appearances in all competitions for the R’s in the last five years, is excited about extending his stay in W12 into a sixth year, commenting: “Everyone knows what QPR means to me and I am delighted to be part of the new philosophy that’s filtering through the club. It’s exciting times, and there’s been a lot of good work done behind the scenes.
“My longevity has surprised me – and it’s probably surprised a few others as well. But I’ve looked after myself well over the years, and I’m still going somehow!
“This season I want to remain fit and put pressure on players that are in the team. I want to set standards in training and prove to myself that I can still do this.
“Professionally, this is the longest I have been at any club and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. There have been a few down-turns along the way, but as a team and as a club we have always reacted to them, and bounced back. I hope we can do the same again this year.”

SIGNED-UP: Clint Hill in pre-season training this week
QPR Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, believes Hill still has plenty to offer, telling www.qpr.co.uk: “Clint is a QPR man and the more players you can have on your books that understand what the club is all about, the better.
“He’s a fantastic professional, who gives everything for the shirt, and we’re delighted he’s agreed this new deal.
“His influence around the training ground will be invaluable for the existing group of players, but perhaps more importantly for the new players joining us.”

Excellent, very happy with this and for Clint.

That's the defence sorted, now lets go get some more attackers.

If signing Hill means our defence is sorted then Green is going to be very busy this year!

Clint is so good he can play alone in defence, he'll create the new role 'lone defender'.

Happy with this news but would rather have him in a mentoring/ coaching role than relying on him to be one of our front line defenders.

Great news I don't know why people are so negative, was there a better defender in the club last season? If so who?

Delighted, Cap'n Clint will continue to give 110%, even sat on the bench.

I think our defence needs a right-back and a couple of reinforcements.

Great guy to have around the squad and a good backup, the kind of attitude you want around the place.

I am pleased to have him around although I do recognize that he may have a lost a step or two in pace of late and might be more help with attitude in the dressing room than the pitch but glad to have him nonetheless I am really looking forward to August with players that want to play for QPR being signed instead of guys who are playing just for the £'s - hope it does translate to the pitch

Love him but we should have put him out to graze two seasons ago. Sadly, he's now a liability. Should have put him on the coaching staff. Great to have around the place. Just not on the pitch.
