Fair play to Southampton if they do that. It's scandalous that Premier League clubs can make so much money and pay players so much while those who run the ticket office or the bar on match days are paid the minimum wage. It's not necessary either.

Net current liabilities of £28.2m, down from £52.6m.

Rogers talked about the strength of the balance sheet, but the Echo have not really highlighted this area. So I look forward to seeing the published accounts.

The current liabilities coming down nearly £25m show where the majority of the immediate investment from Katharina has gone towards(34.7m)

Well if you want to get technical, it is comparable because both our clubs are not paying the Living Wage (I assume so in our case), so yes you might think yourself superior to us in many ways, but on that front, at least for now, we are comparable.

But what I meant by it's not a comparison is that whether or not Portsmouth pay the living wage will not make the Southampton ticket office telephone operator's life better or worse in any way. And vice versa.

I think all the EPL are planning to pay the living wage.

It should be a requirement of playing in the EPL.

That's an interesting one, actually, because it gives you a good idea of what we can expect when this year's books come out.

Fun note: using the Price/Earnings rule-of-thumb for valuing a business, SFC would probably be pegged at £300m+ at this point. That's quite a jump in a few years.

Unfortunately, many big businesses make profits but pay pittance to workers; not just football clubs.

What about if we everyone the living wage, but only 2p in every £ of it?

    That's fair isn't it?

Yeah. I mean, who cares if the Exchequer misses out on millions of pounds of tax income?

Good grief, do you guys have to turn everything to being about Portsmouth? Firstly I never said anything about that being fair and secondly that's irrelevant to this conversation.

Seriously, what do you expect will happen when you come on a Saints board and start questioning the wage policy of the club? We only ever mention Portsmouth these days when you turn up on here PL, it honestly isn't something that concerns us these days.
