Agreed with the other comments he came across incredibly well, was extremely balanced and very articulate on the issues that the membership is causing for the ordinary fan.
11-30 to 12.00 section, about eight minutes in... http://talksport.com/radio/listen-again/1461834000#
Im going to wait til the end of the season. It affects whether I tick the "Season Ticket Holder" box or not. I will be joining though.
I hated him when did MOTD and channel 5 TV coverage. He does not have the correct face accent or coats for TV. But have been very impressed since he joined TS. He has done some v good interviews with sports people. I particularly liked his Harry Greg one not long before he died. He is also a very good supporter of the supporters and also lower league football.
I think they are like Marmite. I turn over immediately when they come on but i do know a lot of people like them.
The two tosspots on instead of them today make them seem like Gods of radio in comparison, think they must have run out of presenters! Talksport is much better than years ago but I'm like others in that I can't listen to Collymore, they must lose a lot of listeners when he comes on
If we ever get to the table to negotiate all things will be discussed but the key phrase there is " If we ever get to the table " !
Your scheme of red cards, and excellent words on the radio have raised the profile of the membership scheme without being sat around the Allams table. I'm not sure why the stand closure falls into a different category, but doesn't waiting run the risk of being too late?
The Trust's position statement makes it abundantly clear that the closure of the West Stand Upper, along with the other moves that are enforced on people in order to get cheaper membership rates, are opposed. But the withdrawal of concessions is the powerful headline that hits home, so gets prominence. Saying the moves are "in a different category" is not correct.
"Abundantly clear" stretches things, particularly as there has been little, if any mention of it beyond that sentence in the statement. That's why I'm asking Geoff the question. Geoff's answer confirms my perception and to some extent puts it in another category, although I do think the morals of charging concessions full price is a different issue, I am of the opinion that the breaking up of groups is a significant part of the opposition to the scheme and recognising that publicly could attract even more support and adds another reason to scrap the scheme, It's another category, because it could go ahead with or without the scheme.
I thought Murray's introductions for the interview was extremely respectful, Geoff came across well, it was a complete success. Well done to all concerned. There doesn't seem to be any point in worrying about which key opens the door to dialogue with the club, any key will do and concessions is the one getting most public attention. Unless the club talks to the supporters there will be no significant change on anything. I do wonder if those who previously found the Trust aberrant and are now finding justification to join, will leave it should the Trust fight against name-change again - although I believe reinstating the true name is an ongoing campaign.
