Yeah I saw that, shame but happy with stewart and pierre, I know side can cover but someone else might be nice. Any news on midfield?
Gaz has been busy today capturing 22 year old winger Jason Banton from Plymourh on a 1 year deal and Danny Rowe on a 3 year deal from Rotherham
Bloody hell. i go out for a sunbathe to come back in to find we.ve signed 2 more players, i'll do the same tomorrow afternoon.
Did Balanta play for us I see he is now at Carlisle another player who promised a lot & never made it
Didn't Balanta go on loan to Brizzle Rovers last year. For what was such a talent, it seems unfulfilled
Saw the Jason Banton thing and felt obliged to give you the benefit of my opinion. We had him here several times. First time fantastic. Second time pants. Then suddenly if you remember he came on as a sub in our game against you in playoffs. Him and another sub and we got 2 back. left out again for 2nd leg until brought on late again. Think he has an ego. Not always a bad thing but you do need the talent to go with one. Can be very very good and tends to start that way. If everyone doesn't love him however then he appears to lose heart.
I'm sure Gaz will sort him out. He gets the best out of players but if they don't give their best they won't get a game. Simples
Trouble is none of us can afford passengers Ron so you want them running from day one. Banton must be running out of options now so maybe he will apply himself. Having said that he will probably come here and haunt us.
To be fair a lot of your fans said that about Cowan-Hall but he turned out to be class for us greeny.
I wasn't that impressed with the Plymouth manager to be honest. Maybe it was something to do with him. One could argue that he cost Plymouth a final place
He only has one expression and that's a scowl, seems a lot of Plymouth fans aren't too bothered he's gone as he treated them with contempt and he seemed to think they had no right to question his decisions, a manager will only be at a club on average a couple of seasons but fans are for life!
He wasn't exactly Mr Popular that's for sure. Example the second play off game. You all know what happened yourselves as you saw it. Plan A was rubbish and we were 3 - 0 down. Change to plan B when the crowd were restless. Wow great transformation and we got 2 back. Another 5 minutes and it might have been all 3. Second game having seen plan A not work first time what does he do......plan A of course course because he's in charge and everyone else knows nothing. Dogma was his downfall and no interaction with the fans. Apparently not the best loved manager in the dressing room either if stories are to be believed. However, that said I don't think that is why Banton failed. He never liked doing the dirty stuff much and always seemed to think he was better than the team. Really believe it is his ego that is his problem. If the going gets tough he isn't the man to have in your corner. Got to say though he does have some talent if only he applied himself.
Sounds familiar - now who was it who Gaz released when he took over full time and was able to pick his players?
