    My 2 pence worth:

Come and See ..fantastic/brutal/stunning war film (Spielberg nicked bits of its style for Pvt Ryan (which he acknowledged so more homage than nicking) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Come_and_See)
Dogma ..though anything by Kevin Smith
Anything by Wes Anderson a few already mentioned but shout out for the Life Aquatic w/Bill Murray (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Life_Aquatic_with_Steve_Zissou)
Dead man ..Jim Jarmush ..Beautifully shot silvery black and white a real ..groove/vibe/acid type film ..so get a huge spliff and snuggle into the couch for the evening ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Man)

A left field one that I love.. Bubble Boy w/ jake gylennnynynynynynynyhaal ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bubble_Boy_(film) )

More recent 'odd' one that was really good: Predestination (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predestination_(film))

Cant beat anything by Scorsese /Kubrick and Coppola mind ...ANYTHING by the Coen Brothers too (if you havent seen their 1st film Blood Simple give it a shot ..all the Coen 'vibe' is there in a modern film noir ...brutal and hard)

I can only comment on Predestination as i have seen it, but that was bad, really twisty and i felt a bit let down afterwards, dont wanna give anything away for people that may go on to watch it.

I really liked it..can totally see where you are coming from though, but it just ...worked for me, really really enjoyed it ..She ( whoever she was ..edit Sarah Snook) was fantastic in it..worth watching for her perfomance alone

Have you seen Primer? a similar low budget Aussie film same (spoiler avoiding) subject matter (Worked for me too..must like twisty, wtf type films)

Assault on Precinct 13 (John Carpenter's original)

All great films in my humble opinion.

Love Dead Man. Come and See is simply one of the greatest war films ever made. The massacre sequence is a vision of hell.

One of my all time favourites mate.

Loved the first one, second one was a bit **** but the third one was class.

I've just started watching all of the bond movies in HD....gotta say the Daniel Craig era is taking the bond franchise to a totally different level for me like. The action is awesome, stunts are class as are the cars and the gadgets (I do miss the old exploding pen and amphibious car mind) but what makes it for me is the fac that they are meant for HD and surround sound unlike the earlier ones. Birds are a lot fitter as well I hasten to add #haminahaminahamina

I've got a bit of an old school pioneer ns-dv55 system. It's 5.1 but I love it and the sound is pretty decent for the price I paid for it. I wanna upgrade in a year or twos time when I get back to the UK. Maybe some KEFS and an Onkyo amp...and I'm way overdue a TV upgrade !

Falling down is a good shout. Michael Douglas going all out to correct everything that is pissing him off that day. When you watch it you'll think aye, that ****ing pisses me off as well., I'd love to do that !

Both Avengers Assemble and, particularly, Guardians of the Galaxy are the best of the Marvel or DC crop so far.

On topic, my strongest nomination so far is Constantine with Keanu Reeves. Not likely to get universal approval, but I absolutely love the film and hope he eventually does the already-written sequel. Tenuously linking back to Bond, my feeling is that a Constantine reboot is more likely, and Daniel Craig will take the lead (the original comic character was/is blonde & British).

Scum, football factory, wolf of Wall Street was class, and as someone has already mentioned Django. 12 years a slave was pretty decent too.
