Any recommendations? I love graphic violence, more graphic the better but don't do rape scenes. Plot is very important too.

Just off my head you should definetly check out some Korean Cinema: Oldboy, I saw The Devil, Yellow Sea, Dirty Carnival, A Bittersweet Life, Man from Nowhere, New World, Nameless Gangster etc. Also check some modern Hong Kong out from Johnnie To; Exiled, Election 1 and 2, The Mission, Drug War. Great stories, amazing acting, most if not all violent and all brilliant. Also Outrage 1 and 2, two Japanese Yakuza films by Takeshi Kitano. Insanely violent and darkly funny.

There are also some excellent European films (non horror) in recent years: Mesrine 1 and 2, Les Lyonais, Carlos (watch the full 5 hour version), Le Immortel, Cell 211, 36, A Prophet, Vallanzasca, ACAB, Grupo 7, Rebellion, Bullhead, Our Day will come (a black, black comedy of some genius) and a non european film called Big Bad Wolves (Israeli darkly comic revenge flick, very entertaining) and I would totally recommend a French TV series called Braquo. Done three seasons and they are ****ing incredible.

Some sex but no rape, at least nothing graphic from what I can recall.

There are three non-English language films that are similar in tone and all tremendous films. Firstly, a Norse production called Pathfinder (the original, not the god awful remake), A Korean film War of the Arrows and then a recent New Zealand film called The Dead Lands.
