A below-par performance with about the only good thing to say about it is that somehow a point was secured. Yes, it was the third game in a week but many other teams had the same and managed a win yesterday. If some players were struggling in training after the Charlton game ( especially the forwards) they could have started on the bench with fresh legs like Ladapo and AJLS coming in. A positive was Grimmer who was trying to make things happen in the second half. He linked well with Riley who surely must come into midfield next week in place of Yates who is trying his best but looks out of his depth at the moment. As for the penalty Humphreys stepped up at Peterborough to score very coolly so it would seem to make sense to have let him carry on taking them.
The transfer window recruitment surely brought in one too many strikers and not enough midfielders (especially with Black leaving) and lets hope we can scrape enough points to stay up in the next ten games with a midfield that is not functioning well.

Tired legs seemed to be the issue. Hurst asked them all if they were tired and no one responded to it. That meant the winning squad from Tuesday remained the same. A positive to take from that I suppose is that they have a mentality and confidence in the squad that is to want to play.

Grimmer did well, as did Leutwiler. Leuts however needs to stop kicking directly to the opposition keeper! Saying that so should whoever takes corner kicks!

The penalty was a real shame, I often think a straight kick is likely to succeed however there needs to be height on the ball to avoid the keepers legs.

Passing was our biggest problem on the day, the amount of incomplete passes was shocking. Coventry pressed us enough to disrupt any flow of passing but we never managed to string together more than one or two passes before possession was lost. Thus also seemed to happen with aerial balls too.

Anyhow on to Chesterfield on Saturday. Hopefully I'm able to make the trip!

Considering they had the better of it was ludicrous to see Slade sacked after the game and for Coventry to appoint their fourth manager of the season. Surely big financial trouble awaits them next season in League 2. I am very thankful to Roland sometimes!

Whoever allowed the owners in who chose that the club and ground was to be separated was a fool!
