He knows he's no match for Parver-Cardew.

He can a peaceful summer now not worrying about a knock on his door from Penfold.
Lucky bugger, escaping before he's ensnared.

Seriously though, if he was going to move clubs, the chances are we wouldn't have been in the running.
No surprise that he's signed a new contract on more money.

Bloody hell, so we have to hope that we don't win more than one more game this season? No wonder we're all pissed off. Win and we keep Parver. Lose and we could be battling relegation!

No worries - Carver has spoken to Charnley and a 3-year contract has been mentioned. He's thinking long-term, long-term, long-term. He's always thinking long term, long-term is Carver.

Long-Term - a Poem (of Woe and Folly) by J. Carver:

“I’m preparing, I’m getting ready for it (the summer preparations for next season)

I think the whole process in the football club, and this is my opinion, is thinking long-term

I could have a contract as head coach for three years and be thinking long-term...

    I have always thought long-term, long-term, long-term…

the conversations I’ve had (with Lee Charnley etc) have always been long-term, long-term."

De Boer was never, ever in the frame for us, far too good and his own man. Here's hoping Carver is talking through his arse, however, it is Ashley's revenge against us possibly.

Tell you who does look good, that Pardew fella at Palace. Doubt he'd ever want to come here though.

    It's all Pardew's fault.

Why would the head coach need to think long-term? He's the short-term, week-by-week, day-by-day, do as you're told and coach the players bloke. Long term would involve you thinking about recruitment and building the club and suchlike. Not his job.

Carver doesn't come across as the sharpest spanner in the picnic hamper. His idea of long term planning is possibly putting his hand in front of his face when he sneezes. He probably doesn't even check to see if there's toilet paper before taking a dump.

At least he checks to see if there is a toilet first, unlike his counterterpart down the road.
