McGregor Rosenior Dawson Chester Robertson Elmo Huddlestone Meyler Brady Jelavic Hernandez I think McGregor sat out long enough to make the point, he's more likely to pull off that match saver than Harper, time for Hernandez to repay his fee, N'Doye has been absolutely gash since Palace anyway (and he was a bit ****e then he missed no end of sitters). Brady and Chester are gonna have a real go. I know Quinn is more reliable than Meyler but he rarely attempts anything spectacular, always plays safe, Meyler on the other hand will run into the box and try score a goal or play a pass behind the defence. And he's bigger and gets stuck in more.
If this is true then we're certainly ****ed, and if anyone wishes to save this as a quote to use in their signature please feel free.
I honestly did think SB was the man to help us stay up after the Liverpool game, I thought he was beginning to turn things round. Oh how wrong I was! I was right in calling for his head in January.
I read a really **** article today about City and West Ham players' connections to Newcastle and why these players will want them to relegate them. It was mostly bollocks but there was interesting point about 'Agent' Steve Harper. He's made no secret of being a massive Newcastle fan in his time here. This might well be his last game for us before he retires and inevitably goes to work for them as a coach or something. Will he have the same desire to keep us up that the others will? I know he's professional, but if it was any of us in that position having to try and relegate City...
I don't believe that cos Harper cas been brilliant when we have played him, it was McG that has ****ed our season up! I know I shouldn't blame 1 person for a teams performance, but ****s sake Alan.... you got a hole in your gloves man?
I agree about McGregor but is he fit or not? i can't see the point playing Huddlestone any more, he's just a buck passer
Bit risky putting Jak in goal though if Mcgregor isn't fit. Harper is very intelligent, I think he will be totally professional
He didn't **** our season up at all, he's made far more saves than he has mistakes. Honestly, what is it about goalkeepers that people just don't seem to grasp? We had this with Jakupovic, one howler and that was it, written off forever more, despite keeping 3 consecutive clean sheets prior to his cock up. Harper has done well, but it's not like he's been spectacular and he hasn't won us any games. My starting XI: -----------------------McGregor---------------- Rosie------Chester----------Dawson-------Brady Aluko -----Thudd-------Meyler------------A-Bob -------------------Abel ---------Jelavic **** N'Doye, he hasn't looked close to scoring since Palace and he doesn't look bothered. At least Hernandez puts himself about a bit and tries to take players on. Can bring him on as an impact sub later on if we need to. We can't match Man U in a 3-5-2, Young and Valencia will crucify us, we have to go in with a tactical chance of winning, not just chucking on the team that beat Liverpool and hoping it will be fine.
Could be that N'Doye will be well up for a match like this though, a nice window for him to perform in, a lot of our players have been like that this season, turn it on when they people are watching (Ramirez)
Thing is though, they've been in the window all season across the globe and done knob all, I don't see why he'd suddenly turn it on now. He could have tried his best, scored a few more and then been heralded as the man who single handedly kept us up, which would have seen him move to a bigger club. Now he'll just be remembered as the guy who scored a handful but it just wasn't enough.
