Connor played well, boosted confidence from a much needed goal. What surprised me about JD was how well he kept the ball and played good attacking passes. Not just a shoot-on-sight poacher

Course it was, or at least as close to 442 as possible.

4132 I'd have said but it was often 433.

AJ spent time centrally behind front 2 and lots of time on left wing, Connor favouring right, leaving a narrow 3 behind them of Brid, Seb and Jordi

So it was fluidly switching between...

    ---------Brid--------
    --Seb---AJ---Jordi
    -----Connor--JD

    And...

    Seb Brid Jordi
    Connor JD AJ

Listening to Gus on the way back from the game, he said 4-3-3 with Connor told to go between right wing and centre.
He said Fletcher was originally meant to play but he missed two days training when his wife had a baby.

Fletch couldn't play that role like Connor did today. BUT... we started to see the full back play and crossing that makes Fletch a very dangerous player.
It'd be less flexible with him but could still be good as a kind of 4132 diamond with very attacking full backs

Reveillere was immense today. First game since before Xmas and played the full 90. He's a very good player mind. Just wish he was 5 years younger!!

Wickham and Defoe played well. Was 4-3-3 with a 4-4-2 feel to me! Particularly first half.

Agree Marcus it was good to have two quality full backs on the field giving is loads of width. 4-4-2 felt like 4-3-3 because of the fluidity of movement by Defoe and the idea that Wickham gets close to him in the box.

I don't know if you spotted the cross by PVA (I think) across the six yard line in the second half. Defoe went front post and it came through to the back with Wickham stuck on the wing, he was gutted but that was the only time that I could see that the system didn't work <ok>
