Delph Yes or No

This signing wouldn't make sense for us at this time. He is definitely better than what we have, I don't think anyone can argue that. BUT, we need to spend our money in other positions. IF we were to get promoted it would be a fantastic signing imo.

Hopefully Este.......all we can do is win our games, I'm not too worried about the other teams as I think we've more than enough to beat them.......

Football agents followed by player greed have killed the careers of some promising footballers in recent years. Man City have damaged the most if you look at the Sinclaire who was a great winger for Swansea and snapped up by City only to get forgotten, The Ex Everton player who was going to be the next big thing in the England team and now struggles at Sunderland. Delph was player of the season at Villa and was one of only a few players who were triers and it got him into the England team. Now forgotten in City ranks. Any of those 3 players is as good or better than what we have so we should grab Delph if we can.

 

True. But we can't afford his wages or get anywhere close.

Hard to tell, there was a bit of the "lad's heads been turned" talk but as subsequent events proved, Bates always was on the look out to balance the books with a sale of marketable players. My guess (and its a guess) is he was at the very least not discouraged from going by Leeds.

 

To play in the prem for him and to balance the books for the chairman is my guess.

 

if thats true then his loyalty to leeds goes out of the window and he is abit like taylor money grabber and not loyal that we dont want so my answer is NO dont have him back

 

He was over in Dublin a couple of days before his transfer, playing in a pre season friendly against Shelbourne, was about 17,18 at the time. After the game, I brought two youngest lassies to meet whatever players we could at dressing room door and get our photos. Snoddy Grayson and Beckford were gentlemen as were many of the others. Delph was an absolute prick with an air of "Im too good for this ****e" about him

I do recall now that when he left he managed not to say the usual stuff like "Leeds fans were great" etc etc - gave him benefit of doubt at the time
