Ha yeah. It won't be a problem to me tbh. It's been obvious that he wants to go for a while. Tony C doesn't take crap, and fair play to him.
Ha, he's one of those players that you sort of defend if he plays for you, but you hate him if he doesn't.
I like Costa and apparently a really nice guy off the pitch but... pretty much every window he seems to be trying to get away so to now put this all at our door is ridiculous. Conte was nearly burnt by him in January and is making sure that won't happen again. Lukaku is looking likely and Morata look gettable as well. I'm sure therefore whichever one it is, is pretty much done deal behind the scenes and hence Costa's public comments.
Costa is getting his comeuppance in all honesty, after his antics in January. Costa is a good player, but he's along way off being a great player, or an indispensable player. 20 in 35 league games is good, but there are plenty even in the PL who are better than that. Harry Kane for example is miles better than that. Lukaku is also a fair bit better and that's playing in a much weaker team. So there are plenty of other players who are as good, if not better who Conte could replace him with, and they probably won't come with all the problems Costa comes with.
Looks like Batters will be getting more game time next season. Especially if we move to a 3-5-2. I'm not sorry to see him go. He never seemed like he wanted to be at Chelsea. There's no end of strikers who would kill for a shot to be Chelsea number 1, so let him go and let's bring in some other top talent.
Not disappointed, but his publish outburst is a way to drive down his pricetag. Not wanted = Less money. Cheap shot from Costa & Co!!
Oh well, this explains why Costa was trying very hard NOT to score in the latter stages of the PL. Shame!! Kudos to Conte for handling that potential disaster, seamlessly DC197 - change your name, eh? who's talking, Costa?
seamlessly surely isnt via text? now story is in the papers and Costa's price is dropping... not good for club or player!
It's a real shame as he could have been a Chelsea great. He now seems to think he's being treated unfairly and is trying to push his price down by coming out and saying what he did. Chelsea don't have to sell him and will simply let him sit in the reserves until his contract is up if they want to. He would do well to tow the line and get a decent move.
