There were two incidents that the wonderful Sky TV and the odious pussy that is Jamie Redknapp would have you believe were a stamp, but Costa did little more than trod on Skrtel and Can. Neither had any force or was likely to cause any kind of injury outside of a couple of stud marks.

I do have some sympathy with Can mind, he had't done **** all, it was Skrtel who raised his arm early doors <laugh> Costa is just a bit old school, i.e. you kick him, he makes a mental note of your number/face for when the next sly payback opportunity arises. Great stuff. I commend his sense of vigilante justice. Clearly he signe for the wrong London club. Being a vigilante superhero he'd have enjoyed the Arsenal xmas party a lot more...

Hope he gets off with it.

Not least because we've already played them twice. Plus there was no stamp unless you're a complete fanny.

Interestingly Fernando Torres is scoring goals for again, as the head of that Simeone counter attack system which requires a player to be cute with his runs and get in behind. I think this only highlights how Costa is in terms of being the complete package. He could play that role, but then adapt to the more Drogba type roles holding the ball using his strength. Basically a great player to have. Spain just need to work out how to use him now!
