Theresa May will trigger article 50 on March 29th. Will this be called Freedom Day or will it be June 23rd?

For me now the whole thing is dried and dusted - anyone who raises any questions as to the direction Brexit may take, or as to where the destination of our journey may be, or whether the whole thing is being done in accordance with democratic principles, is cast in the mould of non patriotism - if it were America it would be called 'un American behaviour', as in the times of McCarthyism. Nothing will work against the wave of ultra Brexit triumphalism. It will take as long for the majority to realize their collective mistake as it took to realize that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. By then it will be all too late. The only way to stop the rampant Brexit bull is to give it time to exhaust itself - every wave breaks against the rocks some day.

It is quite pleasing that all the silly anti Brexit delaying tactics have failed. We still have the ludicrous sight of yesterday's men, Major, Blair Clegg etc trying to whip up the proletariat who have already accepted Brexit and want to get a move on.

It does look like an immediate stalemate will ensue over the unrealistic financial demand lined up for the UK. The EU are determined to cause havoc as a warning to other nations daring to contemplate freedom from the eurocrats.

Whatever this is all about, it is another reason for tourists to stay away

London had been enjoying record tourist numbers due to the lower sterling value and the hordes that had been avoiding Paris due to the many terrorist attacks.

It is true that Paris did see a reduction in tourist numbers, although they have started to return. An incident right in the heart of the most popular area of London for tourists will certainly stop people going. It is all over the news channels here, and everyone will have seen what has happened.

Paris lost over 40% of its business due the numerous attacks and large number of deaths in Paris and beyond. The number of Japanese fell by half. It was recently reported that 'the Nice attack derailed our hopes of a recovery'

Hopefully I expect the effect for the UK will be minimal by comparison.

Three pupils of a Concarneau high school are included in those badly injured. This is the news that is hitting the French population tonight. This is not the time to try and make political points anyone.

Sad for the victims. Ironic that three French pupils involved - have they not been through enough?

Very true - a few who should know better have already done so - Andrew Neil for one, as well as a couple of MSPs.

Am I alone in being rather sceptical of the constant use of mantras such as 'Brexit means Brexit' and, even worse, 'The will of the people'. It's almost as if the political apparatus is abrogating responsibility by saying 'It's not our fault' - or, 'don't blame us when it goes tits up' - it was 'The people' who did it.

You're not alone, though it seems to me it's more to do with an inability or an unwillingness to use language with accuracy than always a wish to abrogate responsibility. The first mantra is meaningless and I doubt the second is definable as a concept. There are certainly individuals wishing to suggest it's not their fault, and, insofar as they are only individuals involved in a complex and far-reaching shift, they are of course to some extent correct!,

Brexit means Brexit is not meaningless. It simply states the U.K has voted to leave the EU. The will of the people refers to the decision of the referendum which had overwhelming backing of parliament. All straightforward, all without ambiguity.

Those that do not like the result try to devalue the exercise in democracy without any success whatsoever.
