Drake's not bad on the grand scale of things considering this new wave of 'rappers'.

There seems to be a new hip hop 'clique' and it's all a bit odd.

    Prefer the 90's stuff myself.

Nas, Redman, Pac, BIG, Pun, Rakim, Jigga, Shady, J5, Snoop, Dre, Cube... Classic hip hop.

**** knows what these new kids are chattin.

Eminem is alright at times but there's too much crap for the odd good track, overhyped imo and not up there with the best.

Drake uses that horrible auto-tune on his songs, makes it sound all robotic. I like about 2 of his songs, One Dance and the other big one! Rest is **** and full auto tuned.

I like some modern grime. Only a few artists though, most is ****.

90's was where the game's at. Pac et al. smashed it. Nas is lyrically the best ever imo.

I went to the 'Up in Smoke' tour about 10-15 years ago. Dre, Snoop, Nate, Eminem and others all killed it.... Think it was just as Eminem was singed and Dre released 2001. It's gone down as the best Rap arena show ever.

Modern day American rap/drill music is shocking though, more and more Americans are getting into UK Grime.

But I prefer Dancehall, always have, always will.

I think he will go down with the best of them, when finished. He deserves it too imo.

Yeah he did a lot of 'fillers' but he took a whole genre owned by Afro-Americans and got to the top, and some. I remember when the top language professors from Oxford and Cambridge did a study on his lyrics, they concluded he was at the same level of talent as Shakespere, just in totally different era's. They say the talent level was similar though!

I'll check it out. It's probably Drill music? Basically the US have tried to bring a new genre within the rap genre called drill - similar to grime but with the American twist.

He's been around a long time though, I don't think he's feeding off grime but just doing his own thing.

Death Grips is an experimental hip hop group from Sacramento, California, formed in 2010. The group consists of rapper/vocalist Stefan Burnett (also known as MC Ride), drummer/producer/songwriter Zach Hill, and recording engineer Andy Morin.[1][2] The band has featured guitarist Nick Reinhart of Tera Melos on their albums Fashion Week, Jenny Death and Bottomless Pit. Their musical style draws on hip hop, punk, electronic, noise and industrial. In 2015, The Skinny called them "the first truly important band of the twenty-first century".[3]
The group released the mixtape Exmilitary in April 2011 and their studio debut album The Money Store the following year, both to critical acclaim.[4] Shortly after signing to Epic Records in 2012, the group leaked their second album No Love Deep Web for free download in breach of their contract and were eventually dropped from the label. They released their third album Government Plates in 2013. Following several broken performance commitments, the group announced their "disbanding" in July 2014 along with the release of their fourth album The Powers That B.[5][6] However, in March 2015 the group revealed that they "might make some more" music[7] and later announced a world tour.[8] Later that year, they announced their fifth official studio album titled Bottomless Pit, which was released in May 2016.[9]

I like the fact he's taken a genre and mashed it up. Not feeling the sound myself, but early days.

The Money Pit is his best stuff, really noisy and aggresive.

Yeah hip hop has evolved now man, it's not something I'd have had much love for if I was just starting to feel my way into it.

It had to go somewhere though, and I think Kanye will be seen as somewhat of a pioneer for evolving what is essentially an entire music genre, maybe not single handedly and certainly not to my taste but he was driving it IMO.

I'll listen to most stuff but like you say I can't get my head around a lot of the auto-tune stuff.

Drake's earlier stuff, just like Yeezy was great IMO.

The classics will always be on in my car, Wu-Tang just this morning while I went out.
