    Good common sense proposals from
    the PM today on Brexit.

Leaving the Single Market and customs union, and exiting the European Court of Justice.

Tactically it also puts Corbyn in a difficult position.

The Blue Team are feeling very buoyant today.

75% in Islington voted to Remain, but 75% in Stoke on Trent voted to leave.

Corbyn wants unfettered immigration - his working class supporters don't.

"Labour: Out of touch with the working class since Tony Blair"

Still unsure as to why people, and politicians, are trying to block us leaving the EU. Many countries survive and thrive outside of the trading block.

Think out politicians are no longer worth anything. They're soft, no longer have any substance!

Also, never quite understood and maybe @Malcolm Oakshott can shed light on (given you work in that industry) why Scottish Nationalism is acceptable, but British or English Nationalism is unacceptable?

    It's something that's plagued me.

    Let me answer that China...

Scotch Nationalism is them being proud of their history and Country and hating the English... this is something the Yanks make films about and is seen as good
English Nationalism is about being selfish and all the English hating foreigners... which is seen as bad

    Simples <ok>

The BBC is seen as the best broadcaster in the World with totally unbiased views..... <laugh>

    That makes sense.

I was listening to Nicola Sturgeon last night, I find her quite irritating.

Put simply, the Scots Nats want independence from the UK ["the wicked English"] because they want to be an independent self sufficient country that governs its own finances and makes its own laws etc. Great stuff <applause>. Just not compatible or consistent with also wanting to be a member of the EU.

Sturgeon knows she can only threaten a 2nd referendum so often - call it and lose it and Jimmy Krankie's career is over. I say- call her bluff.

The hatred towards england is played out and a not true. I've rarely met a scotsman who says they openly hate the english, its still a country dominated by religion and the politics that come with it.

Thought the referendum result put that to bed.

<laugh> Not true, I was best man at my mates wedding in Fife.. both his parents were Scotch (born and bred) and he was Scotch born but brought up in Croydon with Croydon accent. His honeymoon was up the east coast to Aberdeen .... he said he had never experienced so much hatred in his life even after he told people he was Scotch!!

Love Aberdeen. Have a client there. Never seen that hatred.

They had a referendum and decided to stay - and thats seemingly dismissed. We have a referendum and the result is deemed its fact we want to leave europe.

As much consistency as danny green.

I'd go a step further and say there is more disdain between the north and south of england. Scotland is dominated and split by politics, not by its 'hatred' of england.

Now if you said Aberdeen and Dundee hated each other, that would carry weight.

Many times - have done all the major cities as a tourist, and used to work for a large PLC that had a significant base in Glasgow.

    Interesting comment @Ponders

Geoffrey Bloom MEP got into all sorts of trouble this week, when he described Brexiteers as the sort of people who create wealth, and Remainers as the sort of people who consume it.

Well then you'll know that in the South-West religion can be a sensitive issue, for instance you'd never start a conversation in a pub about religion because you never know, but to say that Scotland is divided by religion is not true. Not to say there are no bigots, there are, but dare I say it, you even get them in England too? Even when it erupts into hatred at Rangers/Celtic matches, these same people will quite happily go into work beside each other on monday with no problem.
