Owlstalk before the match wasn't representative of the Sheffield fans. Even after the match most of the fans on Owlstalk where sensible. The fans I met around Wembley were fine.

Bit different from back in the day eh, Pete, when we ended up on their Kop with Frank Cuff and him and Whiff got arrested after it kicked off but none of the Wendies.

The ones I met in various places after the game were totally different to the forums.
    Lots of good banter.

Yes, they weren't friendly then. The police just arrested them because there were less of us to complain. But football was like that then.

There was a Sheffield lad I golf with occasionally at my place watching the game with a bunch of us. Surprised the **** out of all of us when Diame scored - he yelled his voice hoarse. We'd all assumed he was a Wendies supporter. "Nah you daft sods" he said - "I'm a Blunts fan". That was when we allowed him his first beer of the day <laugh>

There was a bit of trouble down Wembley way after the game but fair play to fans from both sides who were quick to jump in and split it up.

I also saw police on horseback sorting a few Wendies kicking off in the car park.

Same here. Very complimentary and magnanimous in defeat. Met quite a few as we had to get from the tube to St Pancras to Ashford International to le tunnel.

Classy fans and they surprised me to be honest.

They're a decent bunch. Like us when we lost the cup final, their first thought at full time was to congratulate their team who'd fought well and been undone by a better side. They spent ages doing that and rightly so.

When Arsenal had just won that final against us, half their fans left before they lifted the supposedly long awaited trophy.

i piss on the owls and their fluffy ness - ok its not classy to diss the vanquished , but Wednesday are just MEH , proper MEH - likeable because they applaud the brew up lady . oh come on , if you are genuine in your commiserations - then i dont belive you give one small **** about Wednesday

Totally agree with this. Their fans were magnificent - before, during, and after the match. Unlike the Arsenal plastics at the Cup Final.

Wendies fans have largely being great. A very decent set of fans. The only arseholes have been these usual clowns online who are belittling the club at the first opportunity and moaning at how a traditional big team with a big fan base couldn't take its rightful place in the top flight.

I only had one encounter with a Wednesday supporter that was negative, the rest were fine, he was just a gobby ****er.

We had a better and more experienced team and we won, that's all.

I remember i2005 when we played them last game of season
They won in the last minute of game to get in the play offs.
After the game our players got presented with their runners up medals and 2 young Wednesday fans stood and clapped every single City player.
    That was class.
The ones we met yesterday where great but unfortunately we saw the dickheads that followed them yesterday being turfed out just as we got to Peterboro.
